The Cakes
Traditional
If you're after a traditional tiered wedding cake with pristine icing and beautiful floral and lace detailing, Ann knows exactly how to create elegant cakes using a variety of classic shades such as white, ivory, baby pink etc. Square or round tiers can be placed directly onto each other, or kept separate using cake stands. Perhaps you may even want a traditional cake, but with a twist; maybe a bespoke sugarpaste model of you both in your wedding dress and suit?
Contemporary
Ann uses the latest cake decorating techniques to create wonderful contemporary designs. From subtle and elegant to more outlandish and bold - whatever your style, your perfect cake will be fashioned at The Icing Centre. Unusual shapes, bright colours, eye-catching motifs and patterns can all be added to your wedding cake. In the past Ann has made wonky tiered cakes, vintage-style fabric effects, heart shape cakes, tiers looking like hat-boxes and lots more.
Novelty
Your wedding should ideally be a reflection of you and your partner both individually and as a couple, and when it comes to the cake, a novelty design can often be the perfect way to add a bit of fun and personality to your day. Her 'reveal' cake is ingenious; a seemingly traditional tiered wedding cake with icing peeled back to reveal an amusing scene - perhaps a sugarpaste groom playing golf while the bride rolls her eyes! (See the gallery of images above).
Mini-Cakes And Cupcakes
Treat your guests to their own miniature version of your wedding cake! Cupcakes are a brilliant alternative to slices of a large cake, and can be decorated in several different ways. Fill a three-tie cake-stand with cupcakes to give the look of a traditional wedding cake. A larger mini-cake could fill the top layer of the stand, allowing you to capture the classic 'cutting the cake' photograph. Or have a large tiered wedding cake and surround it with dinky little cupcakes!
