This Grade II-listed Victorian villa situated in the heart of Bournemouth is now one of the UK's foremost ecologically responsible hotels. The Green House has been awarded GOLD level from the Green Tourism Business Scheme and, is also a member of Considerate Hoteliers, a group dedicated to running their hotels and establishments in an environmentally sustainable manner.

From the wallpaper, printed on FSC paper with vegetable ink and wrapped in a natural starch product rather than cellophane, to furniture handmade by local craftsmen from wood harvested by tree surgeons or salvaged from trees felled by storms, every single aspect of this hotel has been considered from an environmental angle.

Facilities

This versatile wedding venue presents a choice of two main areas in which you can host your civil ceremony and reception: the Arbor Restaurant and the Private Events Room. For really intimate and personal celebrations you can even hire the entire hotel exclusively and spend some quality time with your loved ones.

Arbor Restaurant

With huge curved bay windows and fresh, contemporary décor, this space can accommodate up to 70 guests for a civil wedding ceremony and formal reception. The hotel's signature status as an eco-friendly haven is immediately encapsulated and further re-affirmed by the natural green colour scheme and flood of natural light within this beautiful room.

Private Events Room

This self-contained facility has its own bar, toilets and dancefloor, and can seat up to 100 for a ceremony and 72 for a formal meal. Clean, simple and contemporary, the room presents an excellent backdrop for your lively evening reception photographs. Or, if you're hosting your ceremony here, this large space can still feel wonderfully intimate, with its low ceiling and soft lighting.

Catering

From formal wedding breakfasts to standing buffets, chef Andy Hilton and his team will prepare the most delicious meal using only the freshest, locally-sourced seasonal ingredients. After gaining an understanding of your tastes, Andy will create a unique menu tailored to suit you and your guests. In keeping with the hotel's eco-friendly status, these simple yet inventive meals are created using organic, Fairtrade ingredients wherever possible. Additionally, the team are dedicated to keeping food miles low.

Accommodation

The Green House contains 32 luxuriously-appointed bedrooms in which you and your guests can stay on your wedding night. For convenience, the rooms are categorised in four different types: small double, standard double, large double and master double.

While the hotel itself may be run sustainably, this has not impacted one bit on the level of luxury its guests are offered. Each room features an ensuite bathroom with natural stone basin, walk-in shower and luxury toiletries. For your entertainment, as well as a 32-inch LED flatscreen TV, you will also be treated to a Bose iPod docking station and even freshly-baked homemade biscuits.
