St Audries Park

This beautiful Grade II-listed country manor house is situated in over 100 acres of pristine deer park, and makes a wonderful and isolated place to hold your wedding away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Licensed to host civil ceremonies, able to seat up to 130 guests for a formal meal, and offering accommodation in the form of 22 luxurious bedrooms, St Audries is the perfect all-inclusive wedding venue.

With the expansive Quantock Hills just beyond, where you are free to wander among gorse and bracken and might be lucky enough to sight some wild red deer, and the soft coastal sands, waterfall and ornamental rock-cave of St Audries Bay just down the road, there can be few more idyllically-located wedding venues in the country.

History

St Audries Park has a long history reaching back a thousand years to pre-Domesday times. Originally presided over by the prolific Norman landowner, William de Moyon, the estate went through many changes of ownership and appearance over its many centuries of existence.

The current St Audries House is thought to have been remodelled and modified to its present condition during the 18th and 19th centuries.

In more recent history, St Audries was home to Amitabha Buddhist Centre between 1990 and 2001, before being purchased by the renowned Country House Weddings group, who currently own and operate several other stunning wedding venues in the Southwest region, for instance Clearwell Castle in Gloucestershire.

Today St Audries is a highly successful, Grade II-listed wedding venue, which quite often attracts brides and grooms from across the UK.

Facilities

The stunning, light, bright and airy Georgian Orangery is absolutely ideal for hosting civil wedding ceremonies, and is located across a lawn from the Main House.

The Drawing Room

St Audries Park's second ceremony space can be found within the Main House itself, and presents a somewhat more formal environment than The Orangery.

The Banqueting Hall

This lengthy and finely-decorated hall is perfect for formal receptions, and can hold up to 130 seated guests for such a purpose.

Exclusive Use

St Audries Park is an exclusive wedding venue, by which we mean that it caters only for weddings, and whenever couples hire it for their special celebration, the whole of the house is entirely at their disposal. In this way, St Audries regularly plays host to splendid informal evening receptions with up to 250 guests.

Catering

St Audries Park employs its own, in-house and permanent catering team.

Church

If you have links within the local area, there is the possibility of a Church of England marriage service in the lovely Grade II*-listed St Audries with St Ethel Dreda Chapel, originally built in 1583 and largely restored in the 19th century. This fascinating little late Tudor church is located just one minute up the drive from St Audries Park.

Accommodation

St Audries Park is well-equipped for 'putting up' brides, grooms, their families and a number of their guests within their many acres of grounds. In fact, with the various accommodation options combined, the venue can sleep over 100 guests over your wedding night (subject to availability). There are all manner of extra services offered, such as breakfasts and evening dinners before the wedding if you so wish.

The Rooms

St Audries Park has 22 luxurious bedrooms available within the house, including an amazing Bridal Suite, complete with its own spa bath. These bedrooms are included in the overall charge when you hire the venue.

Peregrine House

Ideally suited as a splendid place for the groom and his entourage to stay the night before the wedding, this brand new addition to the St Audries Estate can sleep up to seven people. As part of the St Audries 'Two Night's Stay' accommodation package, your groomsmen can also stay here on both nights of the wedding. Roaring log fires for the winter, and plenty of outdoor balcony space for the summer.

Holly Cottage

Similar to the groom's party-pad above, Holly Cottage can be reserved exclusively for the entire bridal party from 5pm the evening before the wedding. Enjoy your last night of freedom with girly DVDs, food and drinks, all arranged by St Audries Park.

What a beautiful, enchanting, fantastic venue! My husband and I got married here on the 10th June and it couldn't have been more perfect! Janette our wedding planner was amazing and ensured that our day ran smoothly and to our requests. St Audries Park were fantastic at helping us to create a bespoke wedding including toffee vodka shots for the toasts, hand fasting ceremony and cocktails for the reception.
