Entrepreneurial mum-of-two, Ally, runs Wrapper Star from Witney in Oxfordshire, where she creates personalised wrappers around delicious bars of milk chocolate that make brilliant, crowd-pleasing wedding favours. About

Owner and designer, Ally, came up with the idea for Wrapper Star a decade ago after her husband remarked on how wedding favours are "pointless" because "they end up in a drawer somewhere or left on the table at the reception". But, Ally thought, if the favours were chocolate, that would be a completely different story!

She has been designing personalised wrappers for wedding favours ever since, and regularly exhibits at wedding fayres around Oxfordshire, although she is able to ship her products anywhere in the country. (And even as far as Europe!)

The Chocolate

Ally likes to keep things simple by only working with Milk chocolate. Although it is not branded, she describes the chocolate as delicious and smooth, "like a cross between Galaxy and Lindt". It is also produced in the UK, a fact which Ally is very proud of.

The bars come in one standard size; 40 grams and comprising ten chunks of chocolate, making them the perfect size for a sweet treat.

Wrapper Designs

Wrappers can either be designed using one design that will be put on every bar, or can be personalised with your guests' names so that the bars double as place settings. The possibilities are endless!

Prices start at £1.85 per bar for a standard design, or £2.25 per bar for individual name designs.

Template

Wrapper Star has a number of pre-prepared template designs on offer that span a wide range of themes and colours. Take a look at their website for the full range. Template designs from professional stationers, Kate Lewis and Kathryn Deeley, are also available.

Bespoke

Ally stresses that any design is possible, and is happy to work with you to come up with the perfect wrapper design that will fit in with your big day, as well as complement your wedding stationery. If you have any specific thoughts or ideas, just say so!

Add a touch of sparkle...

Why not make your wedding favours really stand out with a bit of sparkle and shine? Ally can add rhinestones or other bespoke elements to your bars in order to make them truly unique. Pricing is dependent on the type of embellishment and the amount of work involved.

Ordering

Ally recommends you place your order after you've designed your stationery, so that the wrappers are able to complement your wedding's complete aesthetic.

A good time to place your order is typically 6-8 weeks prior to the big day; bars are normally finished within five working days, and shipping time should be allowed for after that, although quicker turnarounds are possible. Ally's chocolate bars have a shelf life of about 9-12 months.
