About
West Horsley Place is a historic house with a rich and varied past. It was originally built in the 15th century, and has been owned by a number of notable figures, including Henry VIII, Sir Walter Raleigh's son, and the Earl of Surrey's "Fair Geraldine."
West Horsley Place was acquired in 1931 by the Marquess and Marchioness of Crewe, and remained in their family until the death of Mary Crewe-Milnes, the Duchess of Roxburghe, in 2014.
Today, West Horsley Place is a popular wedding venue and tourist attraction. It is also home to a collection of art and antiques.
Facilities
West Horsley Place is a beautiful historic venue that offers a variety of spaces for your wedding, from the striking interiors of the house to the stunning gardens and grounds.
The house itself is a timeless and fragile beauty, with elegant rooms that are perfect for your wedding ceremony and reception. The stone hall is a particularly impressive space, with its high ceilings and grand staircase. The drawing room is another beautiful option for a small ceremony or wedding breakfast.
The gardens at West Horsley Place are just as impressive as the house. Within the 380-acre estate, their manicured lawns, mature trees, and stunning flowerbeds, provide the perfect setting for your wedding photographs.
Capacity
For weddings in The Main House you can invite up to 100 guests, or The Barn up to 150. If your numbers succeed 150, then speak with the wedding team to discuss marquee options.
