History

In 1932, West Heath was used as a girls' boarding school that once taught Diana, Princess of Wales. The buildings at West Heath continue to be used for education; they are home to West Heath School, a day and boarding school for pupils with special educational needs.

In 2005, Old House began to be used as a wedding venue, with all proceeds from these events going to the school's bursary fund. When walking around the 32 acres of stunning grounds, you'll find many trees planted to commemorate significant events. For example, Wayne Sleep planted a Beech tree to celebrate the opening of the school.

The Facilities

The historic Old House contains several elegant rooms in which you can hold the different parts of your wedding. You may also use the surrounding lawns for an outdoor drinks reception following your ceremony.

The Recital Room

This bright and elegant room is painted in a neutral cream colour to provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding decorations. Three gorgeous crystal chandeliers add to the sophisticated feel of this space. French windows give access to the sheltered patio and picturesque lawns beyond.

Oak Dining Room

This grand, oak-panelled space contains many original features, giving the room a wonderfully historic look. This room is perfect for an intimate wedding breakfast or, to be used as a bar and buffet area in conjunction with the adjoining Red Dining Room.

Red Dining Room

Decorated in a luxurious red and white colour scheme, the Red Dining Room includes a magnificent fireplace and large windows. This room can be used for any part of your big day or, can be filled with comfortable seating and lit by cosy candles to create a relaxed space for guests to enjoy a drink.

Can be used in conjunction with the adjoining Oak Dining Room.

Catering and Accommodation

Catering

The catering team at West Heath will design a bespoke menu that's tailored to you. Your wedding breakfast will be created using delicious, locally sourced ingredients.

This venue gives you the option to supply your own wine and champagne. West Heath will refrigerate and serve these drinks for you.

Accommodation

West Heath can offer accommodation to you and your guests during the summer holidays. You can book their three lovingly refurbished houses which are situated only a minute's walk away from the Old House where weddings are held.
