Experienced events coordinator Scott Fearn and civil engineer Luke Hasell joined forces to create this fantastic company back in 2009, after first meeting at a musical charity event at Chew Valley Lake in 2007. With the skills and resources to create and construct huge, traditionally-inspired tipis boosted by the knowledge and experience gained from Scott's previous events work, the two set out to provide everything people need to hold weddings and other celebrations in these fantastic portable venues.

Built originally by the semi-nomadic indigenous North Americans of The Great Plains, the tipi represents an ancient tradition stretching back into the anthropological mists of time. Tipis were valued for their shelter and warmth against all weather conditions combined with their durability, versatility and portability.

The Tipis

Tipi Events provide two types of tipi as standard, which can be linked together in any manner of configuration.

It's when you hire more than one Tipi that these portable wedding venues truly come to life - the compartmental nature of the tents make for the real magic! Imagine your formal wedding meal taking place in a number of separate, intimate 'rooms'. Once the dinner is complete, stroll through to a 'chill-out' area adorned with soft cushions and a fire-pit to digest your stomach-full, or through to the bar and dancefloor tipi to bust out some shapes!

Construction

The tipis are a framework of nine large poles, made from 100-year-old spruce trees. Erected in a circular or oval arrangement, these are then covered with a waterproof high-grade cotton/synthetic fibre canvas. Able to accommodate 60 guests per tipi, these traditional tents are truly huge. The events company provides two types of tipi:-

Stratus - Diameter of 10.3 metres

Cirrus - Diameter of 8.5 metres

Custom Design

Due to the ability to connect these tipis together, you can engineer your own individual configuration of tents and compartments. But this is just the beginning. You can work closely together with experienced events coordinator Scott, who has been described as an 'architectural showman', to create the perfect wedding environment for your festivities. Add decorations, PA, lights, dancefloors, oil lanterns, cushions, furniture and heaters - all are hireable directly from Tipi Events.

If you are concerned about comfort facilities in a remote location, Tipi Events can also coordinate the hire of portable toilets.

Delivery And Setup

Included in your overall quotation, Tipi Events will deliver the tent(s) in their rugged Land Rover pickup, and will set up your wedding venue for you! Once the wedding day has come and gone, Tipi Events will also pull the tents down, and clear up the site of any general rubbish or debris.

On-Site Supervision

If required, Tipi Events can offer a member of their staff for on-site supervision, which involves raising and lowering the sides of the tents (to deal with changes in weather etc). If you want a fire or fire-pit inside any of your tipis, supervision will be required.
