History The Wharf House was established in 2004 in a pretty riverside location. Today, it is heralded as one of the best restaurants in the historic town of Gloucester. It overlooks the Hereford and Gloucester Canal and is owned and funded by the Canal Trust, so all the enterprise's profits are ploughed back into the Canal. Launched back in 1992, the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire Canal Trust works towards refurbishing some of the forgotten, neglected stretches of the Canal and River Severn. Nowadays it is a registered charity, just one of the fantastic organisations that work towards preserving the irreplaceable British Heritage.
