Just a short 25 minute drive east of Ipswich, in the picturesque Suffolk countryside, is the ever so quaint The Venue at Kersey Mill. Ideal for any couple looking for a venue that has plenty of its own charm, as well as the potential for them to make it their own.

With multiple function rooms suitable for weddings both small and large, an abundance of outside space, and beautiful views and photo opportunities, this gem is sure to quickly jump to the top of your venues list.


Situated east of Ipswich, and just north of the outstandingly pretty Dedham Vale, The Venue at Kersey Mill has plenty to offer. Being a grade II-listed building that's recently undergone an extensive restoration process, it blends modern convenience with rustic charm and beauty.


The Maltings Room

This room has plenty of natural light, crystal ceiling lights, oak floors, gold and ivory door screens, bay trees, exposed brick, wooden beams, a beautiful chandelier centre piece, and plenty of space for family and friends. It's an ideal setting for a magical day.

Ceremony capacity - 150 Guests

Wedding breakfast capacity - 120 Guests

Reception capacity - 180 Guests

The Kiln Room

The Kiln Room can house 30 guests for civil ceremonies, making it ideal for anyone looking to have an intimate day with their nearest and dearest close by. It can also be used as a games room for the kids or extra reception space for any couples who find it hard to leave people of their guest list.

The Grounds

As The Venue at Kersey Mill is located on 17 acres of private, well maintained land, it'd be silly not to take advantage of all this space, weather permitting. Whether you want to erect a marquee for reception space, or just use the patio as a quiet place to take everything in before re-joining the fun.

This stunning land also provides plenty of photo opportunities, for large group photos, or intimate couple's photos.


At The Venue at Kersey Mill, you'll get to have your wedding exactly how you want it. With exclusive use of the entire venue, including the grounds that surround it, you won't be restricted by anyone else.

By choosing the Venue at Kersey Mill, you'll get as standard:

  • Dedicated wedding coordinator
  • A fully stocked bar with staff
  • Reception area set up
  • Chairs and round tables
  • Seating for up to 120 guests for sit down meals
  • Space for 180 guests for buffet options

From there you can choose to take advantage of their wedding packages, or bring in your own suppliers.

Their all-inclusive package ads:

  • Covers and sashes for chairs
  • Drinks for guests (1 for reception, half a bottle with their meal, and 1 for the toast)

For smaller evening weddings, held between Monday and Thursday, there is the weekend party package.

    Me and my husband got married here yesterday and our day ran faultless! I can not praise the staff and Becky there enough, it was completely stress free, offered enough meetings to make sure we was happy with how the day was going to run, dealt with awkward requests from us too. The venue was beautiful it doesn't require much decoration at all.
    Big Thank you to Jamie Lee Smith catering for providing outstanding food that everyone commented on and table angels for our beautifully decorated table and chairs.

    We don't know quite how to thank Becky and everyone at The Venue enough. I knew from the second I arrived to visit for the first time that this was the place I wanted to get married. The setting is beautiful and there are so many lovely places for photo opportunities. Becky was so organised and incredibly helpful throughout the year leading up to our wedding and made planning it completely stress free! Furthermore, they were so accommodating about letting us organise extra things for our day such as a macaron tower and bouncy castle - something other venues I'd visited had said we couldn't have. On the day, everything went perfectly and it looked stunning. The little extra details organised by The Venue are such a nice touch. Since our wedding we have had so many comments about how amazing The Venue was, how beautiful it is and how fantastic the staff are. They were all so friendly and definitely did a great job of looking after the bride! I am hoping someone else will get married here just so I can go back! We would highly recommend The Venue to anyone planning their wedding. Many thanks again.
