The oldest part of this historic building dates back to 1430. Over the years, The Spread Eagle has had many famous owners and visitors such as, Sir William Fitzwilliam (Henry VIII's Lord High Admiral), Admiral Lord Nelson and, it has been rumoured, Queen Elizabeth I.

The King Edward VII room is found in the oldest part of the hotel and its exposed beams give it a truly historic feel. After your ceremony in the King Edward VII room, you and a select number of guests will enjoy a wonderful wedding breakfast in the Queen's Room.

The breath-taking Jacobean Hall offers a brilliant space for grand wedding ceremonies and receptions. Enjoy a day of celebrating within these natural stone walls. The hall boasts many gorgeous, historical features such as heraldic banners and a minstrel's gallery.
The venue is licensed to play music until 11:30pm and to serve drinks until midnight at a pay bar in the Jacobean Hall.
