About

In 1907 Barry Jackson founded the amateur Pilgrim Players and went on to build a 464-seat Repertory Theatre in 1913, now known as The Old Rep.

Rapidly growing and gaining a reputation as one of the most famous theatre companies in the country, it launched the careers of the likes of Laurence Olivier and Edith Evans to name a few.

The company continued to flourish and expand premises, resulting in the creative and dynamic space it is today.

Shakespeare Memorial Room

Created by John Henry Chamberlin in 1882 for the cities Victorian library, this room is steeped in history and is situated in a commanding position at the very top of the Library of Birmingham. Hire also includes exclusive use of the skyline viewpoint giving you panoramic views of the city.

This exceptionally unique space is situated in the very heart of the Library of Birmingham. Featuring five-storey book lined walls; this iconic wedding venue is surrounded by collective knowledge and literature.

The Gallery/Highlight Space
