The Great Hall, set on the Edgbaston campus of the University of Birmingham, is a grand, historic hall originally built in 1900. It’s a Grade II–listed red-brick building with impressive architecture. Its grandeur, combined with versatile event-ready facilities, makes it a striking and memorable location for celebrations.

The Great Hall provides 548 m² of open, flat-floored space beneath a trompe-l’oeil domed ceiling. Guests arrive via a marble-faced rotunda that leads into the main hall, which is framed by classical archways and ornate architectural details. With a long history of academic ceremonies, concerts and civic events, the venue brings heritage and character to any wedding.

Facilities

The venue combines historic architecture with modern practicality. A flexible floor plan allows many seating and circulation arrangements for ceremonies, dinners and receptions.
