The Grand Hotel Birmingham

The Grand Hotel Birmingham is one of the city’s most iconic wedding venues, combining Victorian grandeur with modern luxury to create a truly memorable setting. Its most striking space is the Louis XIV-style Grand Ballroom, a double-height room adorned with original Art Deco chandeliers, towering windows, and a semi-private balcony that gives a sense of theatre and elegance to any celebration.

After undergoing a £50 million restoration and refurbishment, Birmingham's iconic hotel, which had been closed for nearly two decades, reopened its doors. As they embark on the next phase of their journey, they invite you to join them in experiencing the hotel's renewed splendour.

Facilities

The Grand Staircase

The hotel's grand staircase exudes a captivating glamour that transports guests to the golden era of opulent travel. Constructed in 1891, significant renovations were undertaken to elevate the Grand's interiors to the esteemed levels of London, Paris, and New York. With its undeniable allure, the grand staircase serves as an ideal backdrop for capturing timeless wedding photographs, adding a touch of movie-star allure to any celebration.

The Grand Ballroom

The Grand Hotel, which opened in 1879, was so successful that plans were made to extend it on Barwick Street. In 1895, the Grand Ballroom, originally called the Grosvenor Room, opened and was praised for its grandeur and engineering. The intricate plasterwork, Corinthian pilasters, and elegant cartouches have been carefully restored, and the Art Deco chandeliers, known as "electroliers," provide a warm and radiant glow to the ballroom. The Grand Ballroom in the West Midlands is truly unique, and a wedding held there is guaranteed to be unforgettable.
