Originally built in 1752, The Globe at Hay is steeped in a rich history whilst still being able to provide all the modern comforts. Wedding breakfast capacity - 80 guests

Reception capacity - 100 guests

The Upper Gallery

This airy balcony looks out over the Main Hall and can provide extra seating for your wedding ceremony or a quite escape for your reception guests.

The Lower Gallery

This flag-stoned space has a light, airy atmosphere thanks to its large arched windows and acts as a chilled space for your guests to relax in alongside the Main Hall.

The Garden

The Globe at Hay also offers the use of its romantic garden for drinks, a barbecue or maybe even a hog-roast. Contact the staff for more details.

Executive Head Chef, Hugh Sawyer, encourages couples to make their own bespoke menus, choosing the dishes and desserts that work best for them. Whatever you ask him to make, rest assured that The Globe at Hay kitchen uses fresh, locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients to bring the very best flavours to your wedding breakfast.

The nearby Small Brook cottage offers self-catered accommodation for up to six guests. It offers scenic views of the lovely village of Hay-on-Wye as well as lavish roll top baths and crackling log fires.

My brother had his wedding reception here and it was brilliant, two floors to split up activities and beautiful outside seating that was decorated with bunting and fairy lights that looked idyllic, was a great space and the food we had here was lovely too, staff were very friendly and all really helped to create a wonderful evening.

On April 9th we had our wedding reception at the globe. It was everything we wanted it to be. The staff were incredible and worked their socks off. The food was out of this world. Best food I have ever had at a wedding. We wanted something different, something unlike the usual corporate affair. And the globe delivered exactly what we wanted. It looked beautiful and nothing was too much trouble. We hired their holiday cottage just behind the globe and it was perfect for getting ready in close by. The globe will always be a very special place to us. If you want a wedding that is a little quirky and different then the globe is the place to have it.
