The Glade is situated in the National Forest, an area of woodland 25 years in the making spanning Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire. The regeneration project of the old mining and industry land has now seen the planting of nearly 9 million trees, creating a sanctuary for all creatures who live within it.

Making the most of this now vibrant land, The Glade offers couples a romantic woodland wedding retreat, ideal for those looking to connect with nature at their nuptials. It is also ideally situated, just a short drive from the A30 while being secluded and having an other-worldly feel.

Facilities

Although there are a choice of local churches and registry offices, The Glade also offers the option to have your whole wedding at the same venue.

Pagoda

A delightful wooden octagonal pagoda is the ideal place to tie the knot, joined by up to 250 guests sitting outdoors. Wedding photographs are guaranteed to look spectacular, framed by the structure and the woodland backdrop.

Marquee

A fresh blank canvas, the marquee lends itself perfectly to creating the wedding of your dreams. The Glade have several recommended venue decorators and florists who can help you realise your vision. The venue also offers festoon lighting for a touch of magic.

Catering

Saffron Catering manages The Glade and whether you are looking for a formal setup with round tables and crisp white linen, or something more rustic with long tables à la Harry Potter, they can provide food to suit. Traditional three course meals, hog roasts, paellas and barbecues are all lovingly prepared by the team. All ingredients are fresh and seasonal, and where possible purchased from local suppliers.

If you are looking for something bespoke to suit your needs and budget, Saffron Catering are happy to oblige, and they will of course cater to vegetarian and vegan guests, as well as specific food allergies, trying to mirror the chosen menu for other guests so that nobody feels left out.

The house bar should have everything any guest could desire, or you can add a gin bar or "pimp my Prosecco" for something a little different. Why not create your own cocktail for the event and have something special to drink at anniversaries?
