Situated in the Llangorse Lake valley within the Brecon Beacons National Park, Tall John's House stands as a remarkable and captivating wedding venue with a rich historical background. At Tall John's House, couples have a variety of breathtaking options for their civil ceremonies. The Barn features a magnificent vaulted ceiling adorned with wooden beams, complemented by exposed brickwork and polished stone floors. For more intimate gatherings, the Granary offers a vaulted ceiling and mezzanine balcony. Outdoor ceremonies can take place in the Gazebo or in the stunning gardens with mountain views or in the beautiful walled garden. For those who prefer a religious service, the local church is only 1.5 miles away and can accommodate up to 100 guests. The Barn also serves as a stunning reception venue, providing a blank canvas for couples to personalise to their liking. Guests can enjoy the open-air courtyard, while the walled garden or the magnificent lawn in the grounds make for a superb location for pre-dinner cocktails.

Your vows

A charge of £400 is made for a civil ceremony at Tall John's House (registrar's fee is not included in this figure). This fee includes use of our 100 chairs and benches for the ceremony.

Alternatively there is the most attractive little church 1.5 miles away on the shores of Llangorse Lake. St Gastyn's, Llangasty holds maximum 100 people and is a very special place.

Reception

The Barn has been meticulously renovated to provide you with the ideal setting to bring your dream wedding to life. The barn serves as a versatile venue, allowing you the freedom to customise it according to your preferences, resulting in a space that is truly personal, distinctive, and exclusive to you.

With an extensive and diverse list of suppliers, you have the freedom to decorate, furnish, illuminate, and personalise the barn according to your own preferences and budget. Whether you want to hang that special flower from your first date on the beams, adorn the space with bunting in your favourite colours, or create a lively atmosphere with a light-up bar and a mirrored dance floor, they not only allow you to do it but also guide you in finding the necessary resources. It's important to note that they are a blank canvas venue, meaning if you prefer to source your own suppliers, they will fully support that decision as well. Unlike many traditional venues that offer limited pre-packaged options with mandatory choices, "must haves," and hidden costs, which can make couples feel restricted and lacking control or flexibility to create their dream wedding day, Tall John's House weddings provide you with complete autonomy. From Friday to Sunday, you can take over the barn and transform it into the exact space you envision for your special day.

In addition to the stunning barn, you will have exclusive access to the charming private courtyard located behind it. This enclosed courtyard features a beautiful wooden pergola over the paved floor and a transparent rain cover for any overcast days.

On your wedding day, you will also have the privilege of enjoying the exquisite grounds at Tall Johns House. It provides the perfect backdrop for pre-dinner drinks and capturing memorable wedding photographs.

Pricing

£6000 for any weekend in May, June, September and October.
£4000 for weekends in April, November and December.
£3000 for weekends in January, February and March.
£3000 for all mid weeks except July and August when they are £4000.

Included within the fee:
A beautifully restored barn with a maximum capacity of 160.

Accommodation

Manor House sleeps a maximum of 28 with breakfast included.
Honeysuckle Cottage sleeps 8/9 self catering.
The Coachmans sleeps 2 self catering
