Stoke Place is a re-invention of a traditional country house having been extensively refurbished with 21st century updates. You can find this extravagant house in Stoke Green within the beautiful county of Buckinghamshire where it is surrounded by 26 acres of private parkland. It is ideally located 30 minutes from London, close to the M25 and is easily accessible via train.
This splendid country house offers ceremony and receptions for up to 200 guests. As they don't have set packages, as they believe no two weddings are the same, their wedding manager will work with you to create a bespoke package just for you. Stoke Place houses 39 bedrooms, which will be available to your guests at reduced rates. Alternatively, you can hire the venue for a weekend wedding and indulge in the celebrations that little bit longer.
Stoke Place is a 17th century house, which was built by a royal chef, Patrick Lamb, after hosting his legendary coronation feast for King James II. The 26 acres of gardens were designed by Capability Brown and could very well make the perfect backdrop for your photos.
It was built in 1690 as a family home but the Queen Anne Manor House has undergone extensive refurbishments to keep the characteristic sweeping staircases, chandeliers, antiques and bay windows while adding modern luxuries.
Stoke Place can accommodate a range of capacities with a five individual, private rooms seating from eight to 200 guests. When you hire Stoke Place you have exclusive use of the venue from midday of your wedding day until 9am the next morning.
This room is quaint and suited to small, intimate gatherings for up to 14 guests.
The Lower Garden room has bay windows providing stunning views of the garden creating a bright and vibrant space with the capacity for 21 to 40 guests.
This gorgeous function room has floor to ceiling windows allowing natural light to flood creating an airy space for up to 50 guests.
This is the largest of all the rooms with a capacity of up to 200 guests. It is neutral in decoration so you can add your own touch or theme to it without clashing. Natural light surrounds with the many windows and it also features air conditioning.
The Lakeside is adjacent to Ballroom. It is light and airy with its own bar making a good reception space for canapés and drinks after the ceremony.
Alternatively, you can have a wedding weekend so you can indulge in your celebrations with exclusive use of the hotel for two nights – so you could have a Friday barbecue and Sunday brunch with all your loved ones and make it a time to remember.
Stoke Place have a Michelin-recommended, two AA rosette restaurant, The King and Lamb, where the culinary team create quality cuisine to delight all. They will work with you to create a delicious menu for your big day offering a three, four or five-course meal, canapes and evening buffet options.
All of their dishes are prepared with the finest quality, locally sourced, free-range ingredients. They even have their own Victorian walled vegetable garden so use their own produce where possible. In addition, they also have an extensive wine list or choice of champagnes, seasonal cocktails or punches.
