Based in West Sussex but happy to travel anywhere in the South East, Steve Eggleton has over 20 years' experience as a toastmaster, helping countless couples to celebrate their wedding day as a master of ceremonies, making the day memorable and helping the proceedings to run as effortlessly as possible.
Steve's services extend far beyond just announcing different parts of the day; he can also offer himself as a celebrant for a vow renewal or 'unofficial' ceremony, as well as his expertise as a wedding planner. His greatest joy is taking the stress off the shoulders of the couples he works with by playing a vital and helpful role in the wedding day.
After serving in the London Metropolitan Police for 30 years, Steve Eggleton chose to concentrate his talents on training as a professional Toastmaster in 1995, and has been offering his services to weddings around the South East ever since. (Although he has also travelled as far afield as Australia for work!)
Having now taken part in countless weddings, Steve's experience and expertise are unparalleled. Hiring him as your Toastmaster means you are sure to be in the very best and most capable of hands.
The idea that a Toastmaster is nothing more than someone who announces speeches during a wedding reception is a huge misconception.
Hiring Steve to be part of your big day means you get a true professional to help with every aspect of your day, ensuring all your guests are where they're meant to be, when they're meant to be there. All you have to do is enjoy yourselves!
Before Your Wedding Day
Prior to the big day, Steve will meet with you to chat about everything you wish for him to do and what sort of feel you want your day to have. Big or small, formal or casual, Steve will ensure that he offers exactly the right service for your wedding. He even offers himself as a wedding planner to help alleviate a bit of stress!
On Your Wedding Day
Steve will arrive at your venue in plenty of time, dressed in his formal Toastmaster's attire, ready to escort your guests to their seats and to assist with any last-minute tweaks.
Along with gathering your guests for traditional 'big moments' such as the cake cutting, speeches, and the first dance, Steve can also perform a 'Sabrage' of the champagne; an impressive ritual in which a champagne bottle is ceremonially opened with a sword, which sends the cork flying and which is sure to impress your guests!
If there is any other way you wish Steve to assist with your big day, just let him know. He's there to put your mind at ease and to make your wedding day the wonderful and memorable occasion you deserve it to be.

Thank you so much for everything you did on Saturday - you were amazing. You made the day run so smoothly and everyone commented on how good you were. Thank you for reminding us to stand back and watch everything so we could take it all in and remember it forever. We had the most amazing day and we will never forget it.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your hard work and expertise on Saturday at our wedding. We had the most magical day, and it was made even better by you being there. Your kindness, calmness and touches of tradition really made our day special and it truly was the best day of our lives. The response from guests has been overwhelming, and the teamwork between yourself, Murray and the catering team was faultless. We couldn’t have done it without you. I know Mum and Dad were also eternally grateful for everything you did, and all your little touches. You made us all feel incredibly special. I know I was very lucky and feel extremely honoured to have you at our wedding. So THANK YOU - the massive part you played will be remembered forever!

We just wanted to say a very big thank you for all that you did on Saturday, which meant the wedding not only ran smoothly, but was good fun - we heard many compliments! We were able to completely relax knowing everything was in hand and it was especially kind of you to stay later than you would usually have done. Thanks again and perhaps our paths will cross again at another wedding in the future.
