About
A Manor House with Roots
Built in 1661, Sandon Manor is a handsome Georgian mansion set within ornamental gardens and surrounded by one of the largest rewilded nature reserves in Hertfordshire. The estate has been thoughtfully restored with sustainability at its heart — the historic barns have been converted into a beautiful, eco-conscious wedding venue that sits just metres from the manor house itself, bringing together centuries of character with genuinely modern sensibility.
The Venue
The wedding venue comprises four converted historic buildings arranged around a central courtyard, each with its own distinct atmosphere yet flowing naturally together. The Medieval Barn is the showstopper — with its soaring 13th-century beams, bespoke lighting rig, cocktail bar and separate club room, it creates a setting for feasting and dancing that guests simply don't forget. The East Wing Ceremony Hall offers a calm, elegant space for the ceremony itself, while the Hay Barn Bar provides a stylish wet-weather option for drinks receptions and the courtyard Summerhouse adds a charming outdoor touch.
Sandon Manor holds a civil ceremony licence and only ever hosts one wedding per weekend, ensuring your day receives undivided attention.
