Ruth started photographing weddings shortly after graduating from the University of Plymouth in 2003 with a BA Hons in Photography, and she hasn't looked back since.

Ruth's journey into the world of photography began at the tender age of eight. Always feeling a great deal more comfortable behind the lens, she well and truly empathises with any camera-shy subjects. It is this interesting contradiction that actually helps to put those around her at ease, resulting in photos that are always natural and relaxed.

We're always seeing Ruth at wedding fairs and tweet-ups around Bristol, testament to just how dedicated and therefore knowledgeable she is in the world of weddings.

The Photos

Ruth's approach centres around taking reportage-style shots in a quiet, unobtrusive fashion, yet she will also meet your requirements in terms of relaxed posed images.

The result is a series of honest, lovely, pure, candid images that amply demonstrate simple storytelling at its best. Fantastically framed, sharp through clever use of light, never gimmicky, overly-artistic or 'posy', this represents your wedding as it happens.

She knows exactly which images to capture, the ones which matter, such as stills of older members of the family having a great time, the bridal preparations (which your other guests won't get to experience on the day) and those essential calm moments of respite for the bride and groom away from the hustle and bustle of the main event.
