Oaktree Occasions

Oaktree occasions is run by Jo and Caroline and offers incomparable attention to detail and immaculate service alongside dishes full of fantastic taste. From their Okehampton base, they cater for weddings across Devon. A bespoke service is offered and every detail is planned around your budget.

All food is entirely homemade with ingredients sourced from local suppliers. Jo and Caroline will plan every last detail to ensure your day is stress-free and will even offer their services the day before to aid the preparation of the tables.

About

Oaktree occasions was set up and run by friends Jo and Caroline in 2013. With over 45 years' combined experience in the catering and hospitality industry, they have extensive knowledge of running events. They previously set up a successful restaurant together but their requests to cater for larger events gave them the idea to set up Oaktree Occasions.

Caroline is the head chef. Classically trained, her knowledge gives you the freedom to create your own bespoke menu. Caroline can offer expert advice on how to suit the menu to your budget and theme.

Jo is the front of house manager and master of ceremonies. Her skills and expertise are next to none when it comes to working professionally in the hospitality service. Qualified in Cornwall, she has worked in the UK and overseas and is praised for her extra touches and little details.

Service

Before the day

Oaktree Occasions ensure that the level of service you receive is unlike any other. A site visit is essential to familiarise themselves with the venue and its surroundings. If the venue allows, they will be with you the day before to aid set up of tables and ensure every detail is in place.

On the day

Oaktree give an efficient service with fully trained and smartly dressed staff. The running of the wedding breakfast is organised, with one table served at a time. For buffets, Jo will be present to prompt each table so chaos is avoided. Plates are collected promptly after service.

The Food

The food is completely homemade, nothing is bought in frozen. Oaktree Occasions only source produce from local suppliers and pride themselves on the exquisite taste and presentation of the dishes they serve.

The dishes are prepared to a certain point at their kitchen (awarded a five-star hygiene rating) and transported in a refrigerated van to your venue. It is then cooked on site.

There is an extensive choice of menus that Caroline and Jo have created. Alternatively, they can work alongside you to create a bespoke menu. They can prepare:

  • Canapés
  • Afternoon tea
  • Hot and cold buffets
  • Barbecues
  • Traditional formal breakfasts
Equipment hire

To avoid sourcing two suppliers, Oaktree Occasions can supply their own tableware and crockery of the best quality. This means they are washed up and looked after by the team on the day.
