Nurstead Court

Nurstead Court is a charming, family-run country house wedding venue set in the Kent countryside. The venue offers exclusive use of its elegant house, picturesque gardens, and marquee for your wedding day. Its peaceful rural location is balanced with good transport links, making it accessible yet completely private.

About

Nurstead Court is a Grade I listed manor house that dates back to 1320 and sits within around 300 acres of Kent farmland.

It has been in the same family for over 400 years, creating a warm, personal atmosphere in which couples feel part of the “Nurstead family.” The venue’s in-house weddings team supports you throughout, offering a relaxed but elegant approach to planning your special day.

Facilities

Nurstead Court provides a variety of beautiful spaces for your ceremony and reception. For ceremonies, you can opt for an outdoor garden, the elegant Regency Drawing Room (which holds up to 75 guests), or even the nearby family church, St Mildred’s.

The reception can begin with drinks in the book-lined Library (with French windows opening onto the gardens), before moving to a large ivory-lined marquee.

This marquee seats about 120 guests for a wedding breakfast and can host up to 200 people in the evening, with a dancefloor, DJ, lighting, sound system, and a fully stocked bar.

Catering

The venue uses its own in-house catering team, Bite Me Catering, who have worked closely with the venue for many years.

Their food & drink offerings are bespoke, and they provide a range of menus to suit your style — from classic three-course meals to more relaxed evening food.

Nurstead Court also has two permanent bars: one in the dining room of the house, and another in the marquee.

Accommodation

The Stable Cottage is a luxurious space in the old coach house: it has a four-poster king-size bed, a twin room, a private garden, and room for up to 4 people.

There are also three stylish shepherd’s huts in the grounds — each sleeps 2, has its own shower room, a fire pit, and a picnic table, perfect for guests wanting a countryside stay.
