Mitchell Hall's in-house catering team can create flexible menus bespoke to you, ranging from a classic three-course sit-down meal, to a buffet style feast, and can even arrange an outdoor barbeque to be served in the gardens.
To keep the party going until the next day, a full English breakfast can be arranged to be served for you and your guests within Mitchell Hall's dining room on the morning following your wedding. A dinner the night before can also be arranged.
Mitchell Hall contains 60 beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms, including an elegant bridal suite, ensuring you and your guests need not travel far for a good night's sleep after a night of celebrating.
186 further bedrooms are located close by within the Management Development Centre, and special group rates on all rooms are available for your guests.

AddressWe had our wedding at Mitchell Hall on 15th November 2025. From the very first meeting with Helen, we were impressed with what the package offered and the comprehensive itinerary. Once we booked the date, we were updated at every stage such as booking the registrar and paying the deposit. As the date of the wedding drew nearer the wedding planner changed to Fran. Fran continued with regular communication and updates until the final few meetings. At each meeting we were offered refreshments including wine and were able to easily talk through our plans and expectations that were always accommodated. The food tasting gave us the opportunity to choose the food that we thought that we would like and we were able to request a dish that was not on the menu, this was also accommodated. We were unable to decide on a desert and were able to have another tasting session for that. We were able to use our own decorations throughout, and we also took our home-made photo booth that we were able to set up the afternoon / evening before. We also made our own cakes. We were able to hire out rooms for a few hours in the morning of the wedding for the bridesmaids and groom to get ready in and made use of the bridal suite the night before the wedding. The actual wedding day was amazing and went according to plan. Fran was there for every step of the way to ensure that everything was perfect. The food was as good as it was on the tasting sessions, and the portions were the same. Lots of our guests commentated on how lovely the food was, all dietary restrictions were addressed, and the wine bottles were replenished. There was plenty of room in the bar and the reception areas for people to sit whilst the tables were being cleared and the room prepared for the evening. The weather was not great, so the outside photos were limited but we were able to make use of the sweeping staircase and foliage. The disco and DJ Rob Lawes were included in the package, and the DJ was excellent, the dance floor was occupied all evening until the last dance at midnight and he accommodated all of the song requests by our guests (even Englebert Humperdadinck). Again, we had very positive feedback from our guests. The evening buffet was plentiful, wine that wasn’t drunk at the wedding breakfast was placed on tables and the cake was cut up into individual slices. The bar was open until 1am and guests were able to book rooms and stay for a hearty cooked breakfast. This feedback does not give justice to the amazing day that we and our guests experienced, many asking if we could do it all again. We are very grateful to Fran and her team for the amazing wedding day experience that we had at Mitchell Hall from beginning to end and highly recommend Fran and her team. The photographer that we used was Richard Wasbrook who we booked independently of Mitchell Hall but he was also amazing and made everyone feel at ease whilst taking his photos and again we have positive feedback from our guests He even had his photo taken in the photo booth.
Mitchell Hall Cranfield is the most amazing venue for a civil wedding, the building is an old RAF building and has a quiet elegance about it. When you first arrive the drive and entrance way is perfect for photos, trees and shrubs. The interior is a self contained gem, various rooms all lend it's self to the perfect venue. The wedding ceremony is held in a room oozing history of days gone by, a modern dinning hall with dance floor and plenty of room. But what makes Mitchell Hall so special is the staff from the wedding contact Francesca to the waiting staff, chef, bar, reception and cleaners you could not ask for a group of people that bend over backwards to make your day run so smoothly and to make you feel special. My Son and new daughter in law had such a special day and a lot of this was due to the ease of the day much down to the staff. Thank you for a great day.
We had our wedding at Mitchell Hall on the 18th October, after getting engaged in February, Planning a wedding within about 6 months was a daunting task, but Fran was there to support us every step of the way. Nothing felt like too much trouble during the entire planning process, all of our requests were taken into account and Fran was genuinely excited about all the ideas that we had for our mix of alternative and traditional wedding. The day was a stress-free day, knowing that the venue staff had it all under control and we could focus on having a great day. The food was great, we loved the flexibility of being able to choose what drinks we provided with dinner (as wine was not everyone's drink of choice). They were more than happy to cater for different dietary requirements, including making dairy free alternative meals that were delicious. The bar prices were reasonable and there was a nice selection of drinks to choose from. Breakfast at the hotel was also great, they had a wide selection of breakfast foods from fruit to a full English breakfast. We are incredibly thankful to the staff at Mitchell Hall for making our day stress-free!
Where do we even begin with our wedding day?! From the day week booked our wedding back in November 2023 at Mitchell Hall Fran was nothing short of exceptional. Every single time we went we knew exactly what was going to happen, even at our menu tasting we was treated like royalty! The food was absolutely beautiful. The day of our wedding was the most amazing day of our lives and that is down to Fran and the team, nothing was too much and Fran was always popping in to check I was ok. Since the wedding we have had so many of our family and friends saying how amazing the venue, food and staff were. We had our wedding at Mitchell hall on Saturday and everything was PERFECT! From the Friday night when pizza wasn’t on the set menu for the day and the kitchen staff cooked us 6 for our wedding party to enjoy, all the way to Fran settling my nerves and always being there! All the staff helped us celebrate our day and support us where needed with no hesitation! The night men on Friday and Saturday night were amazing. Spent a lot of time both night talking to them! From our very first email exchange with Fran - the onsite wedding and event planner - I knew we were in good hands. She was quick to respond, kind, and incredibly helpful. When we finally met in person, I instantly loved both her and the venue. Mitchell Hall is not only practical but also beautifully versatile, offering endless potential to make it uniquely ours. Fran’s international experience was an incredible asset. She truly understood our desire for a bilingual wedding and our aim to seamlessly blend cultures during the reception. Throughout our entire planning process, Fran was a delight—always remembering even the tiniest details that would make our wedding feel extra special, often going above and beyond her responsibilities. The day before the wedding, which was one of the most stressful, William - The event coordinator during the event - and his team were already busy with another large catering event, yet they still took the time to greet me and compliment our wedding decorations. Their thoughtful gestures gave us so much confidence and made me feel like we and our guests were in the best hands. On our big day, William and his team were nothing short of amazing. The catering was not only efficient but delivered with warmth and fun. Every single guest was accommodated—whether it was pouring a couple of last-minute drinks, handling a late guest's dinner with care and professionalism. Every need was met with such attentiveness, and the entire team performed to the highest standard. As the evening drew to a close, when it was time to clear the room, the team continued to impress. While cleaning up, they kept the energy alive creating such a joyful atmosphere. Even the night security was fantastic, kind and warm as we waited for out taxi, making the whole experience feel so personal. The following day, when we came to collect our belongings, everything was neatly organised and safely stored, and once again, our interactions with the onsite team were as enjoyable as ever. From start to finish, the experience with Fran, William, and the entire team at Mitchell Hall was an absolute delight. We cannot recommend them enough. Our wedding day was a dream come true thanks to all the staff at Mitchell Hall. From the very beginning they were so attentive and offered very competitive package prices. We felt the staff had a real passion for running weddings and genuinely cared about us and our wishes. The day ran super smoothly and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. I cannot recommend this venue enough thank you so much for everything.
We really don’t know where to start when it comes to our wedding at Mitchell Hall. From start to finish, the whole experience has exceeded our expectations. Fran has been absolutely incredible when it came to helping us plan the day, always being available via email and ready to answer any questions we had. Something we loved about Mitchell Hall was that we were able to book the whole package with them. They arranged the DJ, Wedding decorator, Food, Bar, Timings of the Day, etc. We only live down the road in Cranfield, which is what led us to view Mitchell Hall as a potential wedding venue. As soon as we met Fran and were shown around, we knew this was the place we wanted to get married. We didn’t even view any other venues! When it comes to the wedding day, we cannot put into words how amazing the whole experience was. Fran came by in the morning to help organise us entering the ceremony room and making sure everything ran smoothly. Michael looked after us all day, keeping on schedule and always checking in with us. The food was incredible, and all our guests commented how delicious it was. We had family with dietary requirements, and the Kitchen team went above and beyond to provide for them. The atmosphere was so relaxed and friendly, and our guests commented on this too. The staff were excellent, always attentive and making sure we had drinks, and everyone was okay. The lemon water on the table at the wedding breakfast was lovely and as soon as it was getting low, the staff would top it up promptly. We partied until midnight, and the overnight staff who came to clean up the venue were so friendly and kind. They collected everything of ours and left it in a locked room for us to collect in the morning. We stayed overnight and had breakfast the next day. Having the hotel attached to the venue was brilliant as family that had travelled far were able to stay overnight. The staff at Breakfast were just as attentive and friendly as the staff on the wedding day. We would really recommend Mitchell Hall as a Venue; they truly have been incredible. I really don’t know where to start with this amazing venue. We hosted our wedding on 20th August and from start to finish the fabulous staff could not do enough. Fran, our wedding planner, catered to our every need and went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect day. So many personal and generous touches on the day! Thank you so much Fran for ensuring everything went smoothly as you couldn’t be there. Sandra stepped in on the day and became my guardian Angel with a cloth and some soap when my dress got dirty from the journey back to Mitchell Hall, nothing was too much trouble. All of the staff were polite, friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, the function rooms were set up perfectly and the rooms were really comfortable and clean. I really don’t have the words to express my gratitude to all of the staff that ensured my husband and I ???? had the perfect day. I will be recommending you to everyone I know and we will be back for a visit for our 1st wedding anniversary next year. Thank you again.
We had our wedding at Mitchell Hall in Cranfield on the 8th June 2024 and it was the best day of our lives. Francesca was amazing from start to finish and was always on hand and responsive to emails whenever we had a question (even the last minute ones the days before leading up to the event!). Kyle and I stayed at Mitchell Hall on opposite ends of the hotel which made it that little bit more special in the build up to the wedding. The whole process from viewing the venue, to securing a date, menu tasting and the multiple appointments we had with Fran were all worth it and all smooth. It was so lovely to get to know the staff and build up those relationships ready for the big day. The day went as smooth as we could have imagined and we were extremely happy with all the staff working the event who were friendly and would go above & beyond to meet our needs. A huge thank you to William and the team who were front of house, bar staff, receptionists and all the chefs involved (and everyone else who worked the event behind the scenes!). We have had no end of compliments on how amazing the food was. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and still thinking about it days later! The starter and main was piping hot and the brownie was the perfect dessert to finish off the meal. The coffee, teas and chocolates also went down a treat! No one left hungry either after the huge selection of tasty nibbles for the evening reception. I’m still getting messages about the mini sliders and how good they were!! We had a few requests for the venue on the day and they met every single one with ease. For example - moving of top table flowers from ceremony room to reception room, moving some decorations into bar area, amending the usual 5 chair set up in the ceremony room to 4 chairs to leave a gap for the bridesmaids etc. Nothing was too much to ask for! We had a slight blip in the evening with a selfie pod we hired, I let William know and within 20 minutes of calling the supplier, they’d arrived, fixed it and then went back home again. I was super impressed with this level of customer service! Thank you again to the supplier & William for sorting super quickly! Even the security guards and night team were fantastic when I was unable to sleep - I took a walk around the grounds early morning and had a lovely chat with them all! A huge thank you to every single person involved in our wedding day, both in the lead up to the event and the actual day itself. We couldn’t have done it without you all and highly recommend the venue for those couples on the hunt for their wedding. Overall it was amazing value for money and the team really do care and will happily try to accommodate and meet any special requests!
The best team who are there to help make it a special day. The guests loved the food we had, cider onion soup, marry me chicken and deconstructed oreo cheesecake all were a hit including the vegetarian dish of a fritata. William guided our day perfectly and we even managed to be ahead of schedule. We stayed at the venue and that made a difference avoiding travelling to the venue. We had a lovely breakfast and it made all the guests come together by socialising the night before and morning after. Amazing value for money for full use of the venue with the freedom to be as creative as we could be. The DJ they provided was amazing too, really read the room and mixed songs well. Highly recommend this venue, Fran will make all your wedding dreams come true!

We don't even know where to start, everything was wonderful. The planning stages for making our big day come together just seemed so effortless and nothing was too much trouble. They liaised with all our vendors making sure they were in the right place at the right time for wedding setup and pack down, so we didn’t need to worry or stress. The day itself went so smoothly, the food was thoroughly enjoyed by us and every single one of our guests. We truly thank the Mitchell Hall team for all they did and most definitely recommend having this venue for your big day.
My daughter had her wedding at Mitchell Hall and 5 stars is not enough. Rooms spotless, beds comfortable, powerful shower. Breakfast-best value for money ever. Buffet breakfast with a large selection, tea and coffee plentiful, good range of pastries, fruit, cereal and juices. Staff friendly and helpful. Now for the big day- nothing was too much trouble, our champagne was bought up to the bridal suite chilled in ice to start the day off. Sandra was beyond amazing. Wedding breakfast room was set out beautifully, food was lovely. Evening reception was well planned and buffet just kept coming. Our guests were all blown away with it all. Every single member of staff that I met over the weekend was an absolute credit to the hospitality industry. I don’t think I have ever stayed anywhere and received that level of service from the whole staff. So from the mother of the bride - Thank you all, I would recommend this venue to anyone considering holding their wedding here.
