Hartlebury Castle

Once home to the Bishop of Worcester, Hartlebury Castle is a gorgeous wedding venue in the heart of Worcestershire surrounded by extensive parkland. If you're a lover of history, this is the perfect venue for you to say your 'I dos'.

This historic venue has recently undergone a magnificent transformation making it the perfect location for your wedding. The significant features and picturesque grounds, including the Queen Elizabeth I walk, are ideal for those all-important photographs.

History

This Grade I-listed castle dates back to the 9th century when the land was first granted to the Bishop of Worcester. The castle has been a significant power ever since and has been the home of many political and ecclesiastical powers.

Hartlebury Castle also boasts the grand Hurd Library. Created in the 1700s this library is a wonderful tribute to the Age of Enlightenment and hosts an incredible range of collections from numerous book collectors.

Throughout history, Hartlebury Castle has hosted many royal guests, including, Queen Elizabeth I. To honour this visit, the venue created the Queen Elizabeth Walk which still exists on the ground and can be enjoyed by all visitors.

In 2017 the castle began a superb transformation with the Bishop's rooms opening to the public and an extensive range of facilities and upgrades taking place.

This majestic building is now available to hire for weddings and is the perfect backdrop to any stately celebration.

Chapel

Hartlebury Castle is home to a beautiful chapel that is fully licensed and perfect for an intimate wedding ceremony. This space if perfect to say your all-important vows surrounded by your closest family and friends.

Ceremony capacity - 80 guests

Great Hall

Dating back to the 15th century, the Great Hall is a resplendent room that can host an unforgettable wedding breakfast. With a high-beamed ceiling, marvellous art work and an impressive staircase, this is the ideal space to share your first meal as a married couple.

Wedding breakfast capacity - 120 guests

The Castle is licenced for civil wedding ceremonies, whilst The Chapel is consecrated for weddings and wedding blessings. Additionally, the Castle State rooms, the Chapel and the Carriage Circle are available for exclusive hire making them perfect for intimate and stunning wedding photos.

Catering

The castle has recently had a brand-new café built and the Great Hall provides an elegant and grand space to host a wonderful wedding breakfast. Contact the team for an idea of the menu options available.
