History This beautifully historic inn has truly stood the test of time. Since 1680 it has been open as a resting place for travellers, tourists and locals. The building has played a significant role in the village of Knowle's history and is still a hospitable dwelling to this day. The infamous building was later used to host licencing sessions, ecclesiastical courts, and to accommodate shooting parties. The 1900's saw the introduction of a grand ballroom, gardens, bowling laws and terraces. An eclectic mix of people have stayed in this unique inn, including the likes of Lady Byron and The Beatles. To this day the Greswolde Arms Hotel remains with its doors open to passers-through, just like it has for the last 350 years.
