Born in Germany Silke Bruening's passion for baking began at an early age and began as an apprentice in Bremen before moving on to work in established hotels in Berlin and Munich.
Following her desire to learn English, Silke moved to the UK with the aspiration to open her own pastry shop. After moving from London to the Cotswolds, Cacao Bean was born in 2008 and has been a growing success ever since.
Silke invites customers to imagine the cake of their dreams and creates it accordingly. If you need a little inspiration, she shows an impressive gallery of previous cakes she has designed, and can of course draw on her extensive knowledge of her subject.
Some of Silke's favourite flavours include vanilla with authentic German buttercream, perhaps a chocolate cake with a layer of buttercream and chocolate ganache, and for fellow citrus fans, a lemon cake imbued with lemon curd and lemon buttercream.
All of her bakes are created using the finest, freshest ingredients to ensure a quality flavour and overall delicious cake. Silke also offers a range of wedding favours - including biscuits, gingerbreads, truffles and chocolates - plus edible name cards uniquely decorated to display the name of each wedding guest.
