Blossom and Dill work from a creative and inspirational floristry studio based at Northleach in the heart of the Cotswolds. Owned and run by Sophie Witham, they specialise in rustic arrangements of flowers partly inspired by Renaissance frescoes and classic 'still life' Dutch flower painting and the glorious flora that the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is the Cotswolds has to offer.
Offering a whole lot more than your 'run-of-the-mill' florist, Blossom and Dill supply a range of locally grown blooms, even foraged additions that will save on airmiles and feature local and native plants. Blossom and Dill often include flowers grown at home too! Presentation is key, and this suits Sophie down to the ground, and she often arranges with pottery, urns, ribbons and much more.
Business owner Sophie Witham comes from an art and art history background - hence the fascination with the 'still life' paintings popularised throughout the ages. She has always loved flowers and enjoyed creating unusual combinations that are interesting in both colour and texture. Finally, this art and passion became formalised just a few years ago when she founded Blossom and Dill.
Blossom and Dill offer a comprehensive wedding flower service to all their brides. They regularly create everything from bouquet to buttonhole, plus wreaths, garlands, flower crowns, pedestal displays and plenty of other stunning arrangements for decoration.
Blossom and Dill draw their floral stock from a variety of sources: from gorgeous roses, peonies and dahlias from local suppliers, to home-grown flowers nurtured by business owner Sophie herself, to a range of native or wild-growing foraged species such as cornflowers, nigella, elderberries, ox-eye daisies, poppies, rose-hips, ivy, ammi majus and other apiaceae - plus lots, lots more!
Always pushing the boundaries of floristry and constantly innovating, Sophie even arranges with more exotic flowers including the Chinese lantern - and all the while drawing her initial inspiration from the 'still life' paintings as depicted by artists down the ages.
Blossom and Dill present their unique arrangements in an innovative variety of amazing containers such as antique urns, enamel jugs, not to mention vintage glassware - complementing the rustic flowers perfectly.
