Barnsgate Manor has enjoyed 27 years of experience as a wedding venue, and it shows. The timber-clad exterior of the principal function suite suggests a rustic countryside feel, and the interior continues this theme with exposed ceiling beams and stonework, which lends a traditional atmosphere to the venue. Facilities

Barnsgate Manor offers a wealth of facilities, starting with the long picturesque driveway, which is perfect for a glamorous bridal entrance by vintage car or maybe horse-drawn carriage. Alternatively, there is a licence for a helicopter to land on their grounds.

Two rooms at Barnsgate Manor are licensed for civil ceremonies - The Marriage Parlour and The Museum Suite, seating 60 and 150 guests respectively. The Ashdown Restaurant comfortably accommodates 200 for a wedding breakfast and formal reception, while directly below are the Ashdown Cellars, revamped as a superb air-conditioned facility for after-party dancing entertainment.

Wedding Packages

Barnsgate Manor can offer two standard wedding packages - Gold for parties up to 50 guests and Platinum for larger gatherings.

Gold

This is an all-inclusive arrangement for a wedding breakfast and formal reception for up to 50 guests, and is charged per capita. Although primarily intended for receptions, the Gold package can be extended to include a civil ceremony, and a finger buffet can be served for up to 100 guests during the later evening party. However, either or both these elements will incur additional charge.

The three-course meal is served by their experienced silver service waiting staff ensuring you can sit back, relax and enjoy your wedding breakfast. Also included are chair covers with coloured sashes, floral arrangements of your personal choice with a larger display for the top table and decorative garlands for the top table and cake table, plus one large pedestal display at the entrance.

Platinum

The Platinum Wedding Package covers ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception for larger parties of 50-200 guests, hosted in the listed Museum Suite and featuring everything mentioned in the Gold package. It also includes table place cards and personalised coasters for the tables, plus napkins for serving the wedding cake as well as the services of the regular toastmaster.

In addition, this package also offers entertainment by a string quartet, or, if not available, by a harp soloist; alternatively, you may choose to arrange your own live or pre-recorded music. They also offer their resident close-up table magician, as well as evening dancing in the Ashdown Cellars, their purpose-built disco, fully licensed to 1am, to music played by their regular, professional DJ.

Catering

Barnsgate Manor offers delectable dining which is sure to satisfy your tastebuds. An example menu of their three-course wedding breakfast might be a mouthwatering melon, papaya and pineapple salad topped with ginger and mint syrup, followed by a rack of lamb served with rosemary jus and mashed potato, and concluding with a sensational apple Bavarois with cinnamon shortbread.

Bucks Fizz or Pimms and soft drinks will be served to you and your guests up to the wedding breakfast, then a choice of wines, mineral water and soft drinks throughout your meal, followed by fresh filter coffee and cream, finally a glass of sparkling wine to toast the Bride and Groom. Platinum package includes the provision of either a barbecue (weather permitting) or a finger buffet presented during the evening with no extra charge for additional guests attending the reception party up to a total of 250 overall.

The services of a professional Master of Ceremonies and a friendly wedding coordination team are included in the package fee.

Accommodation

Barnsgate Manor cannot currently offer accommodation, but the hospitality team have compiled a very helpful list of hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses in the nearby vicinity. There is free parking for 150 cars, and the venue is easily accessible for disabled guests.
