About
A Heritage Setting Restored for Modern Love
Duke’s Yard sits within the celebrated grounds of Ashridge House — a Grade I listed neo-gothic estate with over 700 years of history, once a royal residence to King Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. Where the main house has long been cherished for grand-scale entertaining, Duke’s Yard represents something altogether more intimate: a curated collection of the estate’s most storied outbuildings, carefully brought back to life.
Seven Centuries in the Making
Built in the 14th century and later extended by the renowned architect James Wyatt, The Barn, Coachhouse, Stables and Glasshouse have been sensitively restored to preserve their original character while welcoming every modern comfort. The result is a setting that feels rooted in something real — warm, textured and full of soul — rather than simply styled for a photoshoot.
The landscaped courtyard connecting the spaces, designed by acclaimed landscape architect Todd Longstaffe-Gowan, ties everything together beautifully, creating a sense of arrival and occasion from the very first moment your guests step inside.
