All Saints Centre

Nestled comfortably above the High Street in the leafy suburb of Weston Village, just a short distance from the World Heritage City of Bath, this unique community centre is opening its doors to couples looking for a fabulous DIY-style wedding reception. An old Cotswold stone Victorian schoolhouse, it offers a more traditional ambience than most community centres in the area.

Transformed from the old schoolhouse building to community centre in 2001, the main room within the facility offers a space to rival most hotel function suites, but is available at a fraction of the price! Charging no corkage fees, granting each couple complete free rein over the catering for their big day, this might claim to be the ultimate DIY wedding reception venue in Bath!

History

Originally The Weston All Saints Primary School, this Grade II-listed building was created in the mid-to-late 19th century with Cotswold soft coursed limestone. The school moving in 1957, the house then served as the Church Hall. After considerable fundraising, the fully-refurbished centre opened in 2001, and its stature at the heart of Weston's community grows year on year.

Facilities

The Weston Suite offers couples looking for a reception-only venue a fantastic, purpose-built function space. Presented to you as a blank canvas, this is a DIY bride's dream come true. The main room can seat up to 140 guests in banquet style, so there's plenty of opportunity for medium-to-large celebrations.

The All Saints Centre provides the majority of typical wedding events with rectangular tables and dining chairs for up to 140 guests. Round tables are also available at an additional cost. The Weston Suite with round tables can seat up to 108 guests.

Formal Reception Capacity - 140 Guests

The Evening Reception

The All Saints Centre has a full alcohol licence, meaning beers, wine and the like can be sold on the premises (by a licensed barman). You are equally welcome to provide your own drinks, to set up your own non-paying bar facility with no corkage fee.

The venue also has a full live music licence through until 11pm, meaning that you can invite a band and a DJ can play without contravening the law! However, your reception celebrations are required to stop at 11pm, the hall cleared away by 12 midnight.

Additional Rooms

There is a series of smaller breakaway spaces, for instance the Upper Room and the Courtyard Room, ideal as quieter places for guests to chat, space to present an evening buffet or even children's entertainment. These are available at extra hire cost.

Catering

Wedding cuisine at the All Saints Centre needs to be organised by the bride and groom. You are welcome to provide anything from your own homemade sandwiches and precooked dishes, or to invite in a catering team to prepare and serve your meal.

There is a 5-star Hygiene-rated kitchen available on site! This includes a varied range of serving dishes, utensils, pots, pans and much more. White crockery, simple glassware and good-quality cutlery is provided for up to 140 guest place-settings.

  • Lucy and Mike - 07/2015

We used the hall for our wedding on the 27th June 2015, and we had excellent service throughout the process, from booking all the way through to the end. They worked with our requirements and were faultless to the end. Excellent value for money, they kept me updated via emails, and sent out a room layout spreadsheet to help organise where we wanted tables etc… Not only was the hall used but many guests used the outside area to spend most of the evening as it was very warm with plenty of space for mingling and letting kids play. Help was given at the end of the night to clean up. So a massive thank you for giving us a memorable day.

  • Louise - 08/2015

We are very grateful to Gary, Mervyn and the team who could not have been more helpful, from the initial tour and enquiry, to booking and answering all queries promptly. We were fortunate to be able to book the whole venue from the day before to clearing up the day after, as well as exclusive use of the car park for a wedding reception. The main hall was a great size for trestle tables, and accommodated dancing with the excellent sound system. We had a photo booth in the foyer, a quiet room with sofas and a DVD player for photos in the Courtyard room, computer games for teenagers in the Upper room, and indoor games like giant Jenga /Twister in the Garden room, as the weather was a bit uncertain. There is a lift to upstairs for the less able. The kitchen facilities are excellent, and we had a fabulous barbecue under cover of a gazebo we erected on the front lawn. Despite this there was enough space for family wedding photos at the front, though these could also have been taken by the church wall in the upstairs garden. The whole place was immaculately clean and tidy, and Mervyn was a great help clearing up the next day, which took much less time than setting up the decorations.

The venue was all we hoped it would be, and more.

  • Steve and Hannah - 06/2016

Once we walked in, we pretty much knew we would be booking All Saints for our wedding reception. The venue was big enough to cope with our crazy ideas for an unconventional wedding and the team there – Gary and Naomi – were more than up to the challenge too!

With rooms to hire for creating a chill out zone for hyper kids and a lovely garden area (which got so much use during the lovely summery evening) for the guests to mingle, we had all that we wanted and more as Naomi went above and beyond frequently to help me out whenever I needed it.

Thank you all so much for a great day at a great venue!
