Abbots Court Rural Retreat

This beautiful countryside house is nestled in six acres of private woodlands and grounds in the heart of Dorset. The perfect countryside retreat, this idyllic wedding venue can accommodate all-inclusive weddings, allowing you and your guests total privacy.

At Abbots Court brides and grooms have the option of saying their vows in the red brick rustic Victorian Stables, or in the delightful gardens. Your wedding reception will be within the part glazed Pavilion and The Walled Garden. There is an outside bar, seating and pétanque lawn, all softly lit with subtle festoon. There is onsite accommodation for 21 guests, plus the option of hiring their Glamping Pods. It is exclusively yours for the weekend, week, or as long as you want!

Abbots Court is a beautiful rural escape just outside Winterbourne Kingstone in the rolling Dorset countryside.

The fantastic team encourage each couple to make the space entirely their own on their wedding day, the site is a blank canvas for prospective brides and grooms to personalise.

Victorian Stables

Perfect for your ceremony, the Stables are a beautiful blank canvas of exposed brick and wooden floors. The space can easily be transformed with twinkling fairy lights to create a magical barn wedding venue.

Civil ceremony capacity - 80 guests

Walled Garden and Pavilion

A bright new space, the purpose-built Pavilion lets in plenty of natural light to illuminate your diners or partiers, while the Walled Garden leaves plenty of space for outdoor fun and frivolities, or even food trucks. It is a stunning area with an outside bar, a pétanque lawn and a dancefloor, not far from the house and perfect for a wonderful wedding celebration.

Wedding breakfast capacity - 120 guests
Evening reception capacity - 150 guests

Catering

Although there is no on-site catering, Abbots Court Rural Retreat have a list of recommended suppliers whose food is sure to make your mouth water. Choose from a variety of cuisines, or even order a food truck for the evening reception!

Prices start from £12,500 for:

  • Exclusive hire of the house and grounds for the entire weekend
  • Ceremony in either the Stables or the Walled Garden
  • Wedding Breakfast and reception in the Pavilion
  • Accommodation for 18-21 guests (plus the option of Glamping Pods for up to 12)

Accommodation

Included within the exclusive hire of Abbots Court is accommodation for up to 18 - 21 guests, within the main house. If your wedding party is larger, there is the option to hire the six Glamping Pods which each sleep two guests.

There is also Almer Manor, the sister site, where a further 16 can sleep.

    We just wanted to say again what a great day we had and to let you know how much we appreciate all the effort you put into making our day so wonderful! The wedding was lovely and cosy – exactly what we had wished for. We felt very much at home.

    All of our family and friends have told us how much they enjoyed the wedding and wanted to know how we managed to find such an amazing venue. We got told by our friends that the food was the best they have had in a very long time and that we have 'raised the game' for any future weddings.

    Sarah's family also had a wonderful time staying with you. They thought their rooms were luxurious, but at the same time enjoyed the homely atmosphere and are planning to return in the near future. (Also Sarah's mum is trying to find a good spot for bumblebee wallpaper in her house now...).
