Tracey Estate

Dating back to as early as the start of the 12th century, the Tracey Estate can give couples a truly unique wedding experience - a day where you and your wedding party can overlook some of the prettiest views this country has to offer, soak up the rich history, and celebrate your marriage in the exclusive company of your nearest and dearest.

Enjoy exclusive use of the rolling grassland, whilst safe in the knowledge that Tracey Estate can present you with the most stunning backdrop for your wedding ceremony, plus a great reception venue with a variety of catering options, and as the evening celebrations draw to a close, virtually unlimited camping or glamping accommodation.

History

Tracey Estate dates back to the 12th century where the first residence was built by Sir William de Tracy. Over the centuries the estate grew in size, but eventually its fortunes declined and it fell into disrepair. In 2003, the building which stood upon the grounds was demolished as it had by that time become alarmingly unstable and dangerous.

However, in 2011 a restoration project was undertaken with the aim of recovering and re-establishing the gardens and grounds, and after a considerable amount of hard work, they have now truly been returned to their former glory.

Facilities

Ceremony

For your ceremony, Tracey Estate can present you with a venue like no other. Stroll from the terrace vista down to the Sunken Garden, with your friends and family gathered round, as you recite your vows and exchange rings under the ornate hexagonal pavilion, with the newly restored 12 foot fountain playing in the background.

Reception

For your reception, you'll be provided with a marquee situated in the heart of the grounds. With extras ranging from a dancefloor, stage, electrics, PA system, catering tent, and a variety of decorations to choose from, your event will be unique to you. You get full use of the garden grounds for three days to ensure an unhurried, stress-free set-up.

The wedding package allows for 120 guests. For an additional fee, this can be increased to 160 guests (no charge for additional evening guests).

Accommodation

Tracey Estate can provide camping accommodation on the grounds in the Yew Circle. Looking for a bit more luxury? Choose one of three glamping options in the form of vintage-looking bell-tents, ranging from 2-6 people in capacity.

On request, Tracey Estate can also provide a shortlist of preferred hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs in the local area.

From the moment we set eyes on Tracey last September we fell in love with the venue and knew it would be perfect for our wedding.     You gave us exactly the wedding we wanted and we can honestly say it was undoubtedly the best day of our lives. The grounds looked immaculate, and we loved the touches of the new seating area and the spectacular fountain. It was all wonderful.

    We weren't restricted and could really make it ‘our wedding’ not just a wedding. As soon as we drove up to Tracey Estate and saw the amazing view, we knew it was where we wanted to get married. After seeing the beautiful sunken garden, we really couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else.

    We loved the fact that it was family run and not corporate. The guys were all informal yet professional and did everything they could to make our day run smoothly and how we'd imagined. When we were let down by our caterers running the bar - they stepped straight in and did an amazing job. They really couldn't do enough to make our day perfect - magical and love-filled.
