About The PowderMills is a lovingly restored 18th-century Grade II-listed country house. Originally, it was a gunpowder factory owner's residence, being an ideal location - just outside the medieval town of Battle, where the famous confrontation of 1066 happened. The façade of PowderMills is adorned with ancient wisteria and you may be able to glimpse a few artefacts signifying the house's gunpowder heritage. The overall effect is exquisite, with wildlife including geese, swans, ducks, kingfishers, herons, sheep and a peacock named George. It's also dog-friendly, so your pooch can be present at your big day (well-behaved dogs - £10 per night).
