Found quite literally on the Towan Head promontory, this famous hotel sits proudly between the UK's most famous surfing beach and the vibrant seaside town of Newquay in Cornwall. With thoroughly outstanding reviews from across the board, this venerable establishment regularly opens its elegant doors to brides and grooms seeking a striking environment to celebrate their marriage.

Perched on its very own private cliff-top, the hotel is licensed for the conduct of civil marriage and partnership ceremonies with up to 250 guests, and hosts resplendent receptions for a similar number in a variety of function rooms. There is accommodation for all your guests. Take advantage of the beautiful views and truly unique surroundings, quite unlike that of anywhere else in the UK.

Construction work on the hotel at Towan Head began at the end of the 19th century - considered quite controversial in the history books! With a group of fisherman laying claim to the headland as a place to dry their fishing nets, the preparation of the site was delayed somewhat by the so called 'Newquay Riots' which saw foundations damaged, culminating in the Foreman's cabin being thrown into the Atlantic Ocean! Finally the hotel was completed in 1900, featuring electricity, hot and cold water and much more.

The modern era has proved somewhat kinder to the hotel with over £30m worth of recent investment seeing it transformed into a cutting-edge masterpiece. And you just might recognise The Headland Hotel as the iconic setting for the 1990 film, The Witches!

The Headland Hotel can offer a number of different reception rooms and suites for wedding celebrations of all shapes and sizes.

The flagship function room at the hotel, this magnificent space is light and airy, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows. The ballroom is licensed to host civil ceremonies, and for smaller gatherings can be reduced in size by the simple expedient of a movable screen.
