Laurent Courtois, The French Kitchen's proprietor and head chef, has brought a truly authentic taste of France to the West Country. Born in the lush and châteaux-adorned Loire Valley in central France, his passion for food was instilled into him from a very young age, with mealtimes traditionally forming an important social part of family life.
He began his culinary career in several restaurants in the Loire Valley, before moving to Paris and working at the renowned Méridien Hotel, where he stayed for five years.
In 1998 he moved to England, establishing The French Kitchen in the green pastures of Somerset. With over 20 years' experience under his belt, he's never looked back!
