The Clifton Club is the city of Bristol’s oldest private members' society, having been established in 1818. Conceived originally to accommodate gentlemen of means and leisure in the local area, the association moved into its current premises (now known as The Clifton Club) as far back as 1856.
The fascinating, Grade II*-listed Regency building is located at 22 The Mall, Clifton, at the eastern end of Caledonia Place and the elegant Mall Gardens - Clifton’s only formal square.22 The Mall was originally created as a public assembly rooms, before operating as a hotel until the present occupiers took over the premises in 1856.
Today, The Clifton Club has benefited from its refurbishment in 2008 - transforming the venue into a perfectly balanced combination of traditional with contemporary.
