Luxurious and beautiful, this independent restaurant and hotel in Wiltshire is a welcoming venue for wedding parties of up to 150 people. With a 12th-century church at the end of its drive for marriage services, facilities for both indoor and outdoor civil ceremonies, extensive gardens for receptions and numerous interior suites, there's a location for every couple's special day.
With a seasoned events and catering team to programme and coordinate a stress-free, and above all, fully flexible wedding-day experience, the aim is to grant couples and their guests a truly unforgettable celebration. Also allowing exclusive access to the entire property should you wish, there's even a helipad in the grounds for couples wishing to make a real flashy entrance.
Listed as a manor in the Domesday Book itself, the later Tudor house was once the property of Queen Elizabeth's Lord High Treasurer and Chief Minister, Lord Burghley. Beautifully rebuilt in 1840, the near two-century-old manor still retains much of its original charm and splendour by virtue of its faithfully-designed, finely-crafted Tudoresque architecture and its stone fireplaces.
Besides the 12th-century chapel at the end of the driveway for a marriage service, there are two interior suites that present an ideal wedding experience. There is the Gallery Restaurant for wedding breakfasts or buffets, and the Woodland Suite for civil ceremonies, and combined with the Lounge, evening festivities.
Erected in the grounds beside the orchard and rose garden, a marquee is ideal for couples wishing for an alfresco reception, or for those planning to host celebrations of larger proportions.

We are so grateful to you for making our day so special. We both loved it and now feel that we can say we have done it properly. Thanks also to the rest of your amazing team who worked so hard for us and did it with a smile on their face even if we were annoying!

Thank you so much for a wonderful, wonderful day. We had absolutely the best day possible and my greatest regret is that we can’t do it again!! Lots of people have said that it was the most relaxed, happiest wedding they had ever been to, which is an absolute credit to the way you guys ran it on the day. I didn’t have to do anything and your staff were so relaxed and helpful.

We had a fantastic wedding and everything went exactly to plan, so thank you very much for helping make our special day so memorable. Our guests had a wonderful time and thought the venue was perfect, especially with the great weather and the musician playing some fantastic background music.
