Located in the pleasant seaside town of Westgate, the mansion can offer something to suit every bride and groom in its majestic array of ceremony and reception rooms, with areas to cater for both grand, lavish weddings and smaller, more intimate affairs.

St Augustine’s twilight wedding package offers couples the rare chance to marry at dusk in the privacy of the East Wing. There is a generous discount on room rates when you choose this option. And after the formalities of the ceremony, any evening wedding celebration at Westgate on Sea’s most magnificent building can continue right up until 1am, thanks to St Augustine’s late licence.

History

The Canonesses of St Augustine were banished from France in 1904 under new anti-clerical laws, so this prestigious building in Westgate on Sea was constructed between 1905 and 1915 as their convent, church, school and presbytery. St Augustine's has since been used as a boarding school and is currently a popular wedding and conference venue. It was Grade II–listed in 1992.

We had the most perfect wedding day/evening, no stress no worry not a single thing went wrong, we couldn't be more happy and would highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you so much for making our day so special.

Not sure where to start. Fantastic staff, so warm and welcoming. Almost feel a part of the furniture as I haven't stopped hounding these lovely people for the last two years of wedding planning. So flexible and understanding to change. Leanne and Scott made the day everything that it was and told me off numerous times for apologising about wanting things done. They just did it all, no questions asked. Cannot thank them enough. Food was amazing, sit down meal and buffet. Yummy!
