Nestled authoritatively within seven acres of majestic gardens and grounds, this grandly imposing and historic priory presents a more than fitting backdrop for ritually exchanging your rings and reciting your sacred wedding vows. Religious or otherwise, the Grade I-listed edifice has been serving as one of the finest bespoke wedding venues in the county for well over a century.

The current team of dedicated wedding event coordinators at St Augustine's have over a decade's experience in providing an ideal individually-crafted celebration for each and every couple. Seasonal offers are a regular feature, early diaries opening on new slots regularly, allowing prospective brides and grooms to book a coveted day at one of Kent's most picturesque venues.

Originally founded in 1253, the Norman priory became a victim of the infamous Dissolution of the Monasteries that Henry VIII instigated in 1536 to provide greater coin for the crown. Up to that time and beyond, the priory has been host to a great many things: the Black Canons of St Augustine's Order, continental pilgrims en route to Canterbury, even a fair share of smugglers.

Thankfully the historic location was restored in 1906, and has served unaltered as a prime wedding venue for over a century.

Besides the priory proper, which allows for larger conventional wedding parties, the adjacent Edwardian house provides ample space in which to host smaller-to-medium-sized ceremonies.

Once you've finished your ceremony upstairs in the priory, your party can make their way outside onto the lawn for refreshing canapés and bubbly beneath their garden marquee. A private bar is available downstairs, with drinks offered at pub prices.
