  • Receptions for up to 120
  • Intimate wedding parties of under 30 welcome

From the corner of Cheltenham's majestic Imperial Square, the bright, white and imposing Grade II*-listed Queen's Hotel is in all respects a true delight to behold. Glide through the revolving doors into the newly refurbished hotel, then make your grand entrance into the Regency Suite, with its floor-to-ceiling arched windows and stunning chandeliers, where their spectacular architecture is the idyllic backdrop for weddings like no other.

The Queens has 84 bedrooms and can harmoniously accommodate up to 110 guests in their Regency Suite. You will have access to many areas for photographs, including their iconic, listed staircase and, of course, the best chefs on hand, whether you require a six course wedding breakfast or a sumptuous buffet. From the vows to the reception; Queens offers you everything you need for your day.

The Queen's Hotel was completed and opened on the 21st of July, 1838, and was constructed on the site of one of Cheltenham's principal leisure retreats, known as the Sherborne or Imperial Spa (itself created in 1818). The building was wrought in the distinctive and fashionable neo-classical Romanesque style, and its impressive series of columns complements the predominantly Regency architecture of the rest of the splendid Cotswold town perfectly.

Central to the then influential spa resort of Cheltenham, the hotel over the years has attracted a great number of affluent and even royal guests, including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Edward VII (then Prince of Wales), Edward Elgar, Crown Prince Louis, Jerome Napoleon and the Rajah of Sarawak.

Today Queen's is owned by the prestigious hotel chain, MGallery, who work tirelessly to maintain an establishment which presents an impeccable and individual service.

The graceful and curvaceous Regency Room is presented, like much of the hotel, with a refreshingly clean and white atmosphere. Floor-to-ceiling domed windows, golden chandeliers, ornate antique mirrors and many more such opulent features embellish this fascinating space. The room is able to seat up to 100 guests for a wedding ceremony and a reception respectively.

The Queen's Hotel is rightly known for its flexible attitude towards hosting weddings. Whether you are planning a no-fuss and intimate wedding featuring under 30 guests, or an altogether more extravagant event with up to 100, you will be equally welcome.

With this in mind, wedding arrangements at Queen's are broken down into two basic forms: their 'Grand Affair' and 'Intimate Affair' packages.

The Grand Affair package is designed for weddings with more than 30 guests, and includes the full red-carpet treatment, your own on-the-day wedding coordinator, room hire, wedding breakfast, evening buffet and much more! Prices start at £59 per person - get in touch for a more bespoke figure. The Intimate Affair package is designed for celebrations for parties of under 30, and includes room hire, a 3-course meal and the option of an evening buffet.

MGallery prides itself on the fact that each and every one of its hotels is unique, and this is especially true in the case of its catering teams. No two restaurants at MGallery hotels are identical - the renowned, delicious cuisine at Queen's is testament to this.

The experienced team of chefs at Queen's have prepared a broad range of seasonal menus which feature fresh, delectable produce. Get in touch with the events team at the Mercure to find out more about your menu options – to do this, simply click on the 'Email this business' button above.

As a fully-operating hotel, Queen's boasts a complement of 84 rooms. These come in a variety of sizes and configurations, including privilege rooms, four-poster feature chambers and a room with 'enhanced accessibility' for disabled users.

Couples who celebrate their marriage at the hotel will be able to provide their guests with preferential accommodation rates - get in touch to enquire about the details.
