History As a Grade II listed house, some features date back to the 1640's giving the house it's natural charm. Prince Hill House is believed to have played host to Prince Rupert when he fought on the side of the Royalists during the Battle of Bristol in 1643. From 1911-1914 the house and garden were remodelled by the Peto family and later the ownership was passed to Lady Brassey, a godchild of Queen Victoria. Prince Hill is now owned by David and Lucy Edsell and after renovating and decorating the entire house, cottages and gardens, the house is now restored to its original glory. As a family home, Prince Hill serves as a perfect setting for a classic countryside wedding. Facilities Prince Hill offers a choice of several indoor rooms and two outdoor areas for your ceremony. Request a brochure for full details. The Grand Hall and Staircase When arriving at Prince Hill House you are greeted with a beautiful oak hall and staircase showcasing the history of the house. This is the perfect spot to say your 'I dos' and take those all-important photographs. Alternatively, your guests can watch the ceremony from above the happy couple on the continuing oak panelled landing. Ceremony capacity - 75 guests The Ballroom With three pairs of French windows leading onto the lawn and original parqueted flooring, The Ballroom will give your wedding a level of class and grandeur. The space lends itself perfectly for either the marriage ceremony or wedding breakfast. Ceremony capacity - 52 guests The Study If you are looking for an intimate ceremony, the study is the perfect space in the house. You can say your 'I dos' surrounded by the special people in your life and this elegantly decorated room. Ceremony capacity - 8 guests Outdoor Ceremonies If you fancy an outdoor ceremony Prince Hill House offers two wonderful spaces. For a private ceremony The Harold Peto Octagon Pavilion holds the couple and two witnesses inside plus up to 150 guests outside on the lawn. The Prince Rupert Portico is a picturesque setting where the bridal couple and six other people can stand underneath the portico with up to 150 guests on the lawn.
