About
Oakley Court was built in 1859 by Sir Richard Hall-Say for his young wife and three children in the style of a French chateau. The manor house boasts romance and elegance and was sold to the well-connected Lord Otho Fitzgerald who entertained famous people with five films made within the grounds in 1949. In 1977 it was defined as a Grade II-listed heritage site.
More recently, Oakley Court was visited by Her Majesty The Queen in 2009 for the swan upping and was team GB's Olympic Rowing Team base for the London 2012 Olympics.
