Following the success of the English Wedding Infographic<\/a> we released earlier this year, here at The Wedding Secret we’ve been working through statistics from our local areas, next up – Gloucestershire!<\/p>\n

Located in the South West of England, as well as encompassing the Cotswold Hills, River Severn and the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire contains the picturesque towns of Cheltenham and Tewkesbury.<\/p>\n

\"Weddings<\/p>\n

(Data has been gathered from the office of national statistics)<\/i><\/p>\n

In the last statistical year, there were 4,726 marriages in Gloucestershire.<\/p>\n

\"10<\/p>\n

For every 1000 people in England, on average there are 4.3 weddings, for every 1000 people in Gloucestershire, there are 5.5!<\/p>\n

\"Wedding<\/p>\n

This makes Gloucestershire the 20th most popular area to marry in England (out of 119), with an average of 26% more weddings!<\/p>\n

Surely this is down to the areas outstanding selection of exquisite wedding venues, and surrounding countryside. <\/p>\n

\"Wedding<\/p>\n

On average, Gloucestershire conducts 2% less civil ceremonies than other parts of the country, implying that this area is slightly less religious.<\/p>\n

\"Gloucestershire<\/p>\n

Gloucestershire has 4.1% more married couples living in the area, and a 4.1% smaller single population.<\/p>\n

\"Marriage<\/p>\n

As demonstrated in the graph above, Gloucestershire has less young people than the average English county, which perhaps explains the low percentage of single people living in the area.<\/p>\n

\"Population<\/p>\n

Although it is one of England’s most populous counties, Gloucestershire is actually one of the least densely populated (99th out of 119). This is explained by it’s vast amount of scenic countryside, which is perhaps why so many people want to marry here!<\/p>\n
