In this digital age it\u2019s easy to forget how beautiful\nphysical images can be. &nbsp;Despite this, it\u2019s\nstill tricky to know what type of album \u2013 or photo display \u2013 to go for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So\nwe know it\u2019s worth having printed versions of your wedding photos along with digital\ncopies. We\u2019re here to discuss your options and we\u2019ll also get opinions from\nsome newlyweds on the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><b>Option 1 \u2013 Save up for a great digital album<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One bride, Helen, has already had her dream wedding and is saving up for an album from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.folioalbums.com\/products\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Folio (opens in a new tab)\">Folio<\/a>, ready for her anniversary in July. She explains, \u2018Frankly, they cost around \u00a3500,\nbut they\u2019re worth it. They\u2019re printed on recycled and sustainable wood-sourced\npapers, and are printed right here in the UK.\u2019&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Your\nphotographer will probably offer you a book similar to this, printed on\nphotographic paper, which will last for a lifetime and make your photos look\ntheir best. They do cost, but they\u2019re like pieces of art to treasure forever.\nAny good photographer will let you save up to purchase at a later date.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><b>Option 2 \u2013 Photobook<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you can\u2019t wait for your hand-made album from your photographer, or if you\u2019d like a cheaper option try shopping around for a lower-priced photobook.&nbsp; Companies like<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" Blurb (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blurb.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Blurb<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bobbooks.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Bob Books (opens in a new tab)\">Bob Books<\/a> make really stunning wedding photo albums. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/images.theweddingsecret.co.uk\/magazine\/photography\/wedding-photo-albums-are-they-worth-it\/wedding-photo-albums-image-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Often\nthey are printed on paper which has photo or linen covers. Obviously every\nprovider varies, but you can find more inexpensive options for \u00a350 \u2013\n\u00a3100.&nbsp; You can design your album yourself and choose your colour scheme\nand layout for an entirely bespoke product. Alternatively you could ask your\nphotographer to design it for a small fee if you\u2019re not particularly creative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although\nyou\u2019ll save some pennies, this option requires time and organisation. Also, these\nbooks definitely don\u2019t have the same image quality or longevity as the more\nexpensive albums.&nbsp; However, if you\u2019re\ncreative and love some DIY fun, you\u2019ll save a considerable amount of money. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><b>Option 3 \u2013 Box of prints<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Many\ncouples are now opting for a box of prints rather than an album that you can\nflick through. Not only do you lose\nthe fabulous layout of an album which makes them so special, but the images are\nalso more likely to get damaged or lost. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However\nthe photos are of a great quality and printed on proper photo paper. They make\nquite a nice stop-gap until the album is ready, so you have something to show\nyour friends and family. They could also be sent out as little gifts for your\nloved ones. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><b>Option 4 \u2013 Make your own traditional album<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>John Lewis has some\nlovely ready-made albums to choose from. Not only are they a lot more\ninexpensive, but they are pretty and easy to use. &nbsp;Although here\u2019s a tip,\ndon\u2019t opt for the self-adhesive pages, as the glue often lasts just a few years\nthen dries and all the photos slip around! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/images.theweddingsecret.co.uk\/posts\/lizzymayguestpost3.jpg\" alt=\"Find out more about South Gloucestershire-based wedding photographer Lizzy May\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead it\u2019s a\ngreat idea to buy an album with card pages, and tissue in between. All you need\nare photo mount corners, and away you go!&nbsp; They are quite delicate, so\nensure you\u2019re careful as you insert your images so that you don\u2019t damage any of\nthe tissue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re the crafty type, you can completely make your own! This is a sure-fire way to ensure your album is exactly as you would like it. You can choose what type of embellishments you would like to add and make it entirely personal to you.
