Simply Strings comprises three exceptionally talented musicians, two violinists and a ‘cellist. Each member has extensive experience performing classical music, including accolades from influential contemporary figures and regular association with orchestras and musical societies around the country.

This is a highly capable, flexible trio, who are able to project their powerful presence within relatively small and restrictive spaces, such as churches; Simply Strings are simply perfect for your wedding ceremony.

“Just a short note to say thank you for playing at our wedding. Everyone loved listening to you and you provided the atmosphere I had hoped for. I really do thank you for everything you did on our special day.”

Sarah Cleary

As previously suggested, Simply Strings’ great worth lies in their ability to create and sustain a tasteful and dignified atmosphere. The trio’s music is absolutely perfect for adding a majestic ambience to the bridal entrance and procession up the aisle, playing gentle interlude music during the signing of the register and then culminating in a triumphant finale at the conclusion of the marriage ceremony – as well as for those intervening periods at typical weddings that always seem to take a lot longer than you might think!

With the formality of the ceremony over, Liz and her partners are more than willing to perform during the champagne reception too, entertaining your guests while all those photographs are being taken. They can even go on to play during the formal wedding breakfast – the mellifluous tones of a string trio will float delightfully between relaxed and captivating conversations.

Like many other string ensembles, Simply Strings often play at licensed civil ceremony venues, but thanks to their classical repertoire and demure presentation, they will be equally at home playing in most churches too, unlike certain other more modern styles of music.

“Thank you for the wonderful music you played on my wedding day. I loved hearing the beautiful sounds as I was finishing getting ready. Making my entrance to Pachelbel’s Canon in D is by far my favourite memory of the day.”

Contemporary music

For those looking for something a little different, Simply Strings are quite happy to widen their repertoire and play a few contemporary pop covers – they have been known to play bespoke versions of anything from the Beatles to Shania Twain! So if you have a particular favourite song or artist in mind, talk to Liz, and for a modest additional fee, she can have it arranged for you.
