It is located 20 miles from Salisbury on the Dorset and Wiltshire border. There is a choice of quirky licensed buildings for your Civil Ceremony and depending on guest numbers, from just two to 150, they have total flexibility to host your celebration all year round. The outdoor ceremony options are the Roman Temple or the Lower Indian Room and for an indoor ceremony the Jubilee Hall. You are welcome to use any one of the buildings for your ceremony and they provide a marquee on the main lawn for your reception with garden furniture, garden games and deck chairs. Peacocks and free flying Macaws complete the magical atmosphere.

You will have this romantic setting all to yourself with exclusive use - perfect for a relaxed and informal English country wedding. They have in-house caterers offering a range of formal menus to sharing feasts so they can provide a variety of options to suit all tastes. Each wedding has the services of one of their professional wedding co-ordinators, who will help you plan your perfect celebration and then ensure that your wedding day will run smoothly and be unforgettable.

Larmer Tree was one of the first Victorian Pleasure Gardens to open for 'public enlightenment and entertainment'. In 1880 General Pitt Rivers (previously known as General Augustus Lane Fox) created Larmer Tree Pleasure Grounds and by 1899 the gardens were attracting over 44,000 visitors a year. In 1900 the gardens closed after the General passed away. In 1991, Michael Pitt Rivers (the General's great grandson) began restoring the gardens and in 1995 they were reopened to the public.

Whether you are looking for an inside ceremony or outside ceremony Larmer Tree can deliver with the New Pavilion, Jubilee Hall, Roman Temple and Lower Indian Room all with guest capacities of up to 150. They can also provide a marquee on the main lawn for your reception with garden furniture, garden games and deck chairs if you so desire.

Secret Garden Weddings

Alternatively, if you are after smaller, intimate gathering then you can book the secret garden wedding for a mid-week celebration held Monday to Thursday for a maximum of 30 guests.

Professional chefs, Nick Paffett and Mike Clarke, will lead the kitchen team on your big day. They offer stylish yet wholesome food using seasonal, local produce where possible. Menus can be discussed and designed to suit your desires. The chefs can create anything from traditional, formal dining courses to informal, sharing feasts.

You also have the option of tasting the food, meeting the chefs and sampling their in-house wines during the planning stages so that you can be happy with the service and products.

With regards to children, the chefs can create smaller versions of the adult mains for half the price, design a separate menu for the children or create a basket of goodies for the little ones to graze on.

The Lamer Tree Gardens is as near perfection as can possibly be. The grounds are immaculate and stunningly beautiful. Heaven for all ages to spend time in. Kids can romp and play safely whilst their parents enjoy champagne and canapes. Beautiful backdrop for photographs. BUT that isn't even the best bit!! The ceremonial hall is absolutely lovely and romantic with beautiful decor, oak panels, polished floors and spacious enough for a big wedding. BUT even that isn't the best because the beautiful orangery/dining room is absolutely stunning and pristine and the vegetarian meal we had there was just about the best I have EVER had. I just cannot rate The Lamar Tree Gardens too highly. It is amazing and no bride and groom need look further. It is the very best wedding and wedding venue I have ever been to. Oh and did I say that all the staff are so lovely too. They just couldn't have been nicer or more pleasant and helpful. Thank you so much, you made my son and his new bride's wedding the most romantic, perfect fairy-tale - absolutely beautiful and couldn't have been better in any way. What wonderful memories.

Seriously brilliant. Gail Thomas you and your team are simply outstanding. We will never be able to thank you enough.

We got married on the 24th September and had our reception at the Larmer Tree. From start to finish our day was perfect mainly thanks to the wonderful work from Gail and all her team. The venue was beautiful and all our guests said how brilliant the day and organisation was.
