Langley Abbey

Langley Abbey can be found nestled in the rolling Norfolk countryside. It is a beautiful and historic building, with four main spaces that can accommodate each part of your big day. You can have your drinks and canapés on the sweeping grounds outside, and use the North Wall as a backdrop for stunning photographs.

The beauty of the Abbey isn't just found in the wide, expansive views surrounding it. There are several stunning features that will also impress your guests, such as the high ceilings, wooden beams and exposed brickwork. It really is the most picturesque choice of venue.

History

The Abbey itself originates in the 12th Century. It functioned normally until the 16th century dissolution of the Monastery and the Abbey Church, when its assets were seized and damage was done to its buildings. Years later, it became a quarry for stone and a reclamation yard for other materials.

Now, the western range has been fully restored and the vaulted Celarium still remains as evidence of what once was. Holding your wedding inside the walls of Langley Abbey will give your occasion a true and historic sense of gravitas.

Facilities

With four main spaces, the Abbey is able to provide for both large and more intimate weddings.

The Abbot's Chamber

This space is perfect for your civil ceremony. It is filled with natural light during the day, or can be lit with candles for an enchanting evening wedding.

This styled room is the ideal space for your guests to dance through the night. With stone vaulting and a gothic design, it's a classy place to spend your wedding evening.

The Clubroom

This is a more light and airy space for your guests. It is set in the medieval former gatehouse of the Abbey, and is a fantastic chill out area for those who have done their share of dancing.

Evening reception capacity - 120 guests

  • Mrs and Mr Whitlam

I cant put into words how I feel about Langley and the Brasteds team - Our wedding Saturday (14.10.2017) was something dreams are made of - Words will never be enough. Langley Abbey is stunning - The service from the team from beginning to end has been exceptional. I don't think i will ever be able to express enough how perfect our day was. Louise/Nigel/Saskia/Nick and Michael and every single person I met during the planning gave me nothing less than 1000% dedication. The venue, Food, Service, Before, During and After care has been amazing. Thank you.

  • The new Mr and Mrs Parker

Got married here last weekend (30.9.17) and it was the best day - everything I wanted my wedding to be! From the moment we booked our wedding right up until the day nothing was too much trouble, as any bride will know you want your wedding day to be amazing and this it was but it wouldn't of run so smoothly If it wasn't for all the staff and a special mention to Saskia and Nick who made sure of this! I couldn't have wished for a more perfect day, thank you to everyone at Langley and Brastads for making this the happiest day of my life.

  • Mr & Mrs G Jones

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding so special. We both had a brilliant time and really appreciated all the small touches which made the day run so smoothly.

  • Mr and Mrs D Frosdick

Thank you for all your help and advice in making our daughters wedding day such a wonderful occasion. We have received many compliments from our guests and couldn’t have survived without you.

  • Dr & Mr & Mrs M Mailey

I don’t know where to start with thank you’s, there are just so many! We are overwhelmed with how wonderfully the wedding went, and our guests are apparently still talking about how beautiful the setting was, and how superb the service was that you and your team provided.
