Knebworth House is an incredibly special venue, rich in history and equally spectacular in the current day. At over 500 years old, the romantic gothic exterior of the main house is steeped with gargoyles, turrets and domes. Visually this venue is something quite extraordinary for your wedding day.

Licensed for ceremonies and to host the entirety of your special day, the estate has a selection of barns, formal gardens and a Victorian Library within the main house. The team are also able to accommodate evening receptions only within the 400 year old barns.

History

Rich in history, this venue is linked to some of the most influential writers and politicians of the past. Home to the Lytton family since 1490, this extraordinary estate was transformed from its Tudor origins to its current Gothic exterior in 1843.

The gardens date back to the 1600's with the original Victorian and Edwardian designs still intact. Be sure to view the renowned guest book; you'll see names such as Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth.

This versatile estate offers various function spaces including the main house and a number of barns that have been renovated and restored to provide a beautiful setting for your wedding day.

Knebworth house

The Gothic exterior of the main house hides a magnitude of unique rooms. Couples can exclusively hire the Victorian Library, Jacobean Banqueting Hall and Edwardian Dining Parlour for the ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast.

Steeped in history and beautifully presented, these rooms naturally create a truly romantic atmosphere for your wedding day.

The Knebworth Barns

Within close distance of the main house, these two barns have been lovingly restored but still retain their 16th century features.

The Cobbold and Lytton Barns

Complete with private garden, perfect for your drinks reception, these barns are the newest addition to the estate. With exposed oak beams they offer a contemporary yet authentic experience.

Knebworth Formal Gardens

Dating back to the 1600s, the beautiful gardens provide an idyllic backdrop to your wedding day. Surrounded by sweetly smelling roses and the iconic sunken lawn, you can say "I do" or have your drinks reception within the grounds.

Catering

With a team of experienced in-house chefs, all your wedding catering is covered. The team are able to create an array of delicious dishes from canapés to a formal wedding breakfast, children's meals and more relaxed evening options.

You can sit down with your wedding coordinator to discuss all your requirements and select your menu. Of course all dietary requirements are also catered for.
