History

Kirtlington Park was designed by the famous 18th century architect James Gibbs, and was built in 1742 as a home for the Dashwood family. Both the exterior and interior features are designed in beautiful Palladian style and offer an elegant backdrop to your wedding day.

The 3,000 acres of grounds, parklands and lake were designed by landscape architect Lancelot 'Capability' Brown and the gardens boast wide views across the Chiltern Hills.

Facilities

Civil Ceremony

There are a number of beautiful rooms at Kirtlington Park that can host wedding ceremonies. The elegant Saloon is perfect for weddings with 50 - 120 guests, and is home to the famous "Coronation Portraits" of William III and Queen Mary. The Saloon also opens onto a garden terrace for you and your guests to enjoy.

Alternatively, exchange your vows in the Grey Drawing Room, showcasing classical features and a marble fireplace, or in the unique Monkey Room.

Wedding Breakfast

After the ceremony take your guests out onto the lawn where you can share canapés and drinks. While they mingle and enjoy the fine catering, your photographer will be able to make the most of Kirtlington's stunning scenery and capture some beautiful shots for your wedding album.

Your wedding breakfast will then take place in the Great Hall, a striking space that can seat up to 120 guests. Whether you choose to serve a traditional three-course meal or opt for something more informal, you and your guests will be impressed by the fine food and drink presented to you in the grand setting of the Hall.

Evening Reception

As evening draws in, you and your guests will be invited into the Saloon to continue the celebrations. Perfect for dancing or hosting wedding entertainment, the Saloon offers high ceilings and a huge dance floor. While some guests will want to boogie the night away, it's important to remember that the older members of your wedding party and even young families will want a space to relax after the day's excitement, so the nearby Grey Drawing and Monkey Rooms will be available to offer a quieter scene.

Catering

Passion for Food, Kirtlington Park's dedicated catering team, offer a delicious range of menus for your wedding day using locally sourced produce wherever possible. From three-course wedding breakfasts to afternoon teas, they are able to cater to any tastes and requirements, and even offer a bespoke menu service where you're able to design your own wedding catering with the help of their talented Executive Chef.
