Whilst approaching this venerable manor through its own serene grounds and gardens, up a sweeping drive, you could be quite forgiven for thinking you had just travelled back a few centuries in time. The quintessentially Georgian structure, announced by a symmetrical Palladian façade, sits proudly atop its grassy knoll, overlooking the ponds and lakes fed by the nearby River Frome.

Versatile and cost-effective, with prices from £1085 off-peak, this venue really does have a great deal going for it. The house is licensed to host civil wedding ceremonies, as well as two further outdoor spaces. Hold your reception exclusively in the house in a choice of State Rooms, with a maximum capacity of 140 for your formal wedding breakfast, but up to 400 for the after-party.

This historically and architecturally fascinating manor house was originally created for a member of the affluent Pitt family, George Pitt, circa 1717. Over almost 300 years of existence, the house has been modified on just a handful of occasions and still retains a wealth of original features, making it worthy of its prestigious Grade I listing - effectively placing it in the same category as other historic buildings such as Buckingham Palace and Tower Bridge in London, and the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol. Today the house and estate is home to the renowned Kingston Maurward Agricultural College, specialists in land-based studies.
